You're partly right, but not entirely. There are many free tournaments on pokerstars. And after half an hour everyone starts going all in as soon as a normal hand comes. I can't go to school. And I don't really like playing cash. So let us hope that here I will find the money tournaments where can be normally play
Hi there!
There are many free tournaments on PokerStars? Where??? Can you list a few for me? At least it's not like the "old" days - and I'm talking back to 2010-2011 or so. There used to be a set of freerolls called the Astronomer (sp?) Freerolls. There would run all day, every day at various times and were named after various scientists/astronomers (for some reason! LOL). And they were open to EVERYONE. These were discontinued a few years back with NO replacements.
Also, all the tourneys in the PokerSchool used to be freerolls. And you could win some pretty good money on the Monthly Leaderboards (for the School Leagues). Thats's how I built a lot of my bankroll back in the day. The current school Leagues are the Initiation (for new players only) which ARE freerolls, but most people can't play those. Then there is the "Masters" League (poorly named, because you don't have to be any kind of "master" player to play in them). All you need is your 25 cents for each tournament. Not only that, but you pay
real money to enter these, but if you are lucky enough to get ITM in one of these they "pay" you with T$ !!!! ?!??!?!!!! What?!?!? How can they justify charging you real $$ to play, but pay out in T$ ?? Maybe it's a minor point, because most of us will just use our winnings to play more tournaments, but consider this: I recently finished ITM in one of the Masters (CA) tournaments for the su of approx. $4 US. But what I got was T$4. Now you tell me - would you rather have $4 US in your account, or T4$ - virtul cash that CANNOT be withdrawn? And again, remember that you had put in 25 cents for each Masters tournament that you play!!! Maybe it's a subtle distinction, but it's just one of the MANY changes Stars has made since the Amaya takeover and it seems almost every decision has been about taking a few extra cents away from the players at every turn. Now I realize that it's a business and they are in the game to make profits, but when are the profits big enough - and when are you going to show some consideration/respect to your players??
But back to FREEROLLS. I find almost all of the freerolls on Stars these days come from 3rd party souces - like cardschat here, or promotions within the school, such as attending training sessions to get a School Pass freeroll ticket. Maybe they will soon start charging us a fee to sit in on the training sessions too? LOL.
So, where are all these freeerolls of which you speak? Thanks!
Good luck on the tables!!
