Hopefully your funds are reasonably safe at any of the larger and more reputable sites. But of course its not like putting them into a major bank or investing in AA+ graded bonds. So dont keep more money sitting on any site, than you need to play the games of your choise.

I didnt have any problems yet with Pokerstars and GGpoker, so I believe that my money are safe there.
