Yes poker tournaments are sometimes boring when the card does not go and the players sit thinking for a long time but you can start the cash game and not get much divorced or sit down in the tournament where there are not enough players and there you will not be bored all thanks and good luck

I think of it like fishing. It's can be boring for a while but once you get a bite, the excitement of the catch makes up for the waiting.

After playing so many hours of poker it can become boring, i have to take breaks from time to time so i do enjoy myself when i play. I can't stand folding for hours and being a NIT but sometimes i do it anyway. I feel i have better finishes when i play and i'm bored, but when i play to have fun i gather more chips in the early/mid stages. so yes poker can become boring.

If you are just sitting there waiting for a good hand I guess it will get boring for you, but if you use the time where you're not playing hands to analyse other players at the table it'll help your game a lot and you won't be bored.

Sometimes you have to play against opponents that take a lot of time to play a hand ... That may despair or be bored, what I do in those cases is to take advantage of those moments to analyze the way my opponents play and thus to take better Decisions at the time of playing a hand, that way avoidable boredom.

It does seem like the tournaments I do well in I

don't play many hands but when I get in a hand

I am in it to win it !!

It's not about winning the most hands, it's about making it to the money !

The appearance of boredom – this is a pointer to what is necessary to revive in oneself the former love of the game and learn to see poker differently.

boring/exiting, it's a relative thing, without the boring bits how could you have the exiting bits, one is defined by the other, without the lows you can't have the highs, a constant high is not a high

hmmmm, profound

Very good point. Profound and true!!!

I think it's a very complete mental sport. The adrenaline that makes flow in the body due to the emotions, is incomparable with other sports of strategy. For me, one of the best hobbies that exist.

As far as a preference while playing I would have to choose beyond a shadow of a dought, to play live. Even though playing the game of poker itself is "like watching paint dry". When you go long, long periods of time without a suitable hand to play, kinda puts a player in a mental state that could make them vulnerable to making some serious mistakes. However, everyone need to find a way to fill those "dry hand periods" if you hope to have any success in tournament play. Some listen to music, other audio of poker schools, and there are the players like I. Which tend to fill those minutes and hours picking out the weak points of players "not only at my table but the tables surrounding me as well",and if that doesn't work for you then just try keeping your eyes off those gorgeous waitress's in those skimpy uniforms. lol lol "Thank God, for the casino gals"

I usually play 4 tournaments at the same time. The one with the biggest buy-in is where most of my focus goes, there is a "middle" buy-in tournament, and two with really small buy-ins. That's how I avoid boredom while I play. It is highly unlikely that you won't have some action on any of the tables. It also depends on the mood. Sometimes it's just not for playing poker. I used to make that mistake, when I wasn't really in the mood for the game, but hey it would be nice to some cash. I don't do that anymore. Also if you play poker for many hours, many days in a row, you can get a kind of a "burn-out", then it really can get boring. It's best to take a few days break then, and you will more likely enjoy it when you start playing again. Also long late registration periods can also be boring, but once you are in the money, with a decent stack, it's anything but boring. The closer the final table gets, the the bigger the excitement. I love the adrenaline rushes I get while fighting to get to the final table, and while playing on the final table. Good luck all! Cheers.

I you play one table waiting or premium pré-flop hands is better to do another thing while you play...
Grind in Poker can be really "boring".

I like to watch players and see if I notice patterns in their play. eg if they are the initial raiser do they always, often or sometimes bet post flop?

In a way I share the opinion you express, but in these times there are options like ZOOM tournaments or tables that keep you in constant action and depends on how fast you want to fold your hand, but it also depends on whether you like that modality or not. If you are one of the players who regularly only play strong hands you have the opportunity to see lots of hands quickly until you get one that you want to play.

Well I too sometimes find poker boring too, especially in a big tourneys (or regular tourneys). But it all depends on the tournament style (like I never get bored in bounty builder tournaments). Also a lot depends on the prize pool, the bigger the prizes, the more focused you are through the tournament :)

The point of the game is to keep your mind occupied at all times and not just play to the strength of your cards, but also to the strength of the opponent's hand. That's what makes the game fun, not the cards and the draw, but the mind game aspect of it. I honestly feel like anyone who plays poker and takes pleasure from the uncertainty of the draw, and gets a rush every time a card is flipped over is in it for the gamble, and not the sport. A good way to entertain yourself is to try and guess everyone's hand, even if you're not playing said hand. This is, of course, a lot trickier and nearly impossible online, unless you're playing with regs on a high stakes cash table.

Hey folks, when you write about poker and say its boring, can you please clarify what type of this game is boring for you! I personaly find 5card draw absolutely not boring also like holdem, no matter limit or unlimit. Omaha, yes its boring. ;)
