No more Unibet freerolls

I contacted unibet for a problem I had finding freerolls, to my amazment she said that players in germany can no longer play freerolls at Unibet. I mean whaaaaaaaat the effing eff. whyyyyyyyyy?

A few years ago, Unibet removed their bounty free rolls and any number of players were disappointed, then raised the issue in the Unibet forum. Almost immediate a Unibet rep started replying and talking down to everyone, in a condescending manner.

In real time we could all witness the registration/ participation in free rolls drop drastically and noted this on the forum . Ultimately the Unibet rep replied so what? The people who played the free rolls were not the clients Unibet wanted to attract.

It was a really disappointing interaction with I site I had come to enjoy.

Unibet has started to become more visible in the UK. TV ads etc during live sport. Poker seems to be more of a side game for them. I only play the CC games and any tickets I get. Someone here did mention some changes to legislation in Germany?

You missed the point, why players from germany are descriminated against, Ive checked the recent modifications on the new online gambling regulations and there is nowhere in it that freerolls are verbotten. Among other rules are the max of 1keuros topups and the self exclusion button and identification. So Unibet ist Scheiße

Point was that the Unibet is sheiße, not only for Germans and that was the reason I deleted the Unibet account

It is known as a loss leader which is used throughout retail etc. to attract new customers. That's the model most sites use is it not? If the site doesn't believe in them or their usefulness then drop them altogether.

However, you'd have to be thoroughly stupid to roll up to a pay site or bricks and mortar casino with little or no experience and start dropping real money from the get go. And the sites know this and know full well that market is extremely limited.

These days, Unibet provides a very slim schedule of freerolls which I am barely bothered to participate in - they are truly madcap. I really just play the CC ones.

The bounty ones of a few years ago were epic - limited player pools of around 500 I believe that would fill in minutes. Then (as described) they messed with the formats and people could not be bothered.

Sorry to hear of the local situation in Germany.

Indeed, there are only cent buy ins as the cheapest--i played last year ian William Freerolls by his stream. Now he raised up to one $ buy in and moore.. Times in Germany have changed.

my heart goes out to all the germans who suffered from that horrible experience. i hope you and your fellow countrymans will get over it one day.

on a more serious note: those freerolls provided almost no value anyway no? only a few spots paid with some shitty satellite tickets if i remember correctly. nothing to be sad of really.

Well, I cant play the CC freerolls. Anyhow, Unibet prize pool/ buy in is very low. But just the idea that you are not allowed based on some $#!tty excuse is appaling

I think, it could actually be a question of the new german legislation. There has also been talk, that german players can no longer play the CC freerolls on some sites, and that this might eventually be all the regulated sites. Here in sweden we already have such a situation. Our regulation does not allow poker sites to offer bonuses other than a limited sign-up bonus. And apparently this also influence freerolls somehow, because we can also not play most of those, that are offered on PokerStars or 888 Poker including the CC freerolls. For some odd reason the daily 200$ freerolls on 888 Poker are available to us though.

UK does indeed seem to be among the regulated markets with the most reasonable rules for online poker. Not that the swedish regulations bother me that much, but not recieving any rakeback and not playing freerolls does not help my "gambling addiction" in any way, shape or form. Neither does it "protect" me, that I am only allowed to deposit around 550$ on each poker site each week.

At least we dont have the 4 table cap here in Sweden. I have no idea, what that is all about, but maybe the german government dont want people to play professionally? It surely does nothing to protect people with a gambling problem, since they rarely play more than 1-2 tables anyway.
