When a tournament is cancelled, and players have already reached the money, we refund each player their tournament fee, and then divide up the prize pool based on the following formula:
- each player receives the minimum prize not yet awarded at the time of cancellation
- the remainder of the award pool distributed proportionally according to the chip count

Ahhhhhh....once in a great while the Great PokerStars goes down for whatever reason. For those that play there alot, they are obviously spoiled as it is an uncommon occurrance unlike many other sites.
And unlike many other sites, they immediately come up with the fair refunds and such for whatever was messed up so you dont have to chase them for days.
And thank the poker gods they dont make you email to get refunds and then tell you--well, even though thousands couldnt get on the site, and there are posts all over the internet saying people cant get on, it is all your computers fault, we may give you a one time refund 2 weeks later.
And unlike many other sites, they immediately come up with the fair refunds and such for whatever was messed up so you dont have to chase them for days.

So I was concerned that my $2.20 buy in was taken and I wasn't able to play the tournament with it. I had emailed support at pokerstars and this morning I got a response telling me that I was already refunded that amount because the tournament was cancelled. Now a smaller site would probably just leave it at that, but pokerstars actually attached an audit report of my account over that last couple of days to prove to me that I was not charged for that tournament.
