Thank you very much for the good advice!
I'm reconsidering this, it's probably a better decision to start with $500. I hope I'll be able to build my bankroll.
It's definitely good advice.
If you deposit $5000 right now and go hell for leather it would be comparable to chucking ten bucks of chum over the side of a boat in shark-infested waters and then diving right in the middle of it all for a nice little swim.
Don't do that.
Start at the bottom and work you way up is a far more practical and feasible option.
About five years ago I decided to start playing poker 'seriously' rather than as a past-time to see if I could make something of it.
I thought I already knew how to play poker then and that I was a 'good' player.
The reality of the situation is that I learnt more in that first six months than I had previously in fifteen or so years of playing recreationally.
I.E. I had no idea how to play poker properly, let alone profitably.
Thankfully I found CardsChat pretty early on in my adventure and (along with various strategy books and the suchlike) it has been a Godsend.
My advice would be to focus on studying and learning as much as possible about strategy, theory and practice what you learn at low stakes, or even freerolls.
As you improve you will know when it's time to start moving up -
incrementally!
Best of luck and very happy to see you here at CardsChat, I'm sure it will help you as much as it has me...
