This was one of the several awards that Cainomeister makes for 2008.

The gamble isn’t if you’ll win or lose. The gamble is getting your withdrawal from Jon Wood.

Worst Casino Manager of 2008
The manager/operator of Jonwood Poker is the happy clappy recipient of this coveted award. A player came to us after their deposit plus a small bonus disappeared from their account. Customer Support reported that Jon Wood himself had removed the deposit though no explanation was available or forthcoming. The player turned the case over to us but all attempts to raise the issue with Jon Wood and/or Customer Service were ignored.

Full story here.

Someone's hand is in the cookie jar...
We've heard of roguish operators and managers behaving badly. But this one takes the cake - or should I say - the player account balances for spending money.

Submitted via PAB:
The Problem: Last spring or summer I deposited $155.40 at Jon Wood gambling. I used download banners from Chipstalkers. I played a few games at the site and frankly I didn’t care for the software. I contacted support trying to get my pin number so I could make a withdrawal. I had to email them twice.

Finally, I got this reply:

"Our cashier is currently unavailable. To make a deposit or withdrawal please email jon@jonwoodgaming.com."

On September 5, 2007 I tried to withdrawal my total balance. Jon Wood contacted me on September 27 and blamed all his problems on Futurebet and stated all players money would be made good. He stated he had changed networks and was no longer involved with Futurebet. “I have taken the steps necessary to make sure this will never be a problem at JWG again.” My account then had a zero balance.

On October 24 2007, Jon Wood responded to my complaint. Hi player, I will look into why it’s not on the new site and see if we can get it there so you can withdraw it. I would really like to have this squared up with you asap.

On October 30 I threatened to file a complaint with SBR.

On November 11, he had put the money back into my account. A few more messages with Jon Wood and nothing nasty said one way or the other.

On December 28 in an email to Jon Wood I stated that none of the forums I was involved with played at his site and I wanted to make a withdrawal. Nothing happened for another month.

On January 27, Jon Wood said he was giving me an extra $10.00 for pointing out a bug in his software.

On May 18 I discovered all my money was missing from Jon Wood Gaming. His support people said he was the one who withdrew it. I have written him several emails, PMed him from Casinomeister, Blue Lizard Lounge, SBR, emailed support, and had two chats at live support. I got no help whatsoever. His copy of live chat sums up the nature of this complaint. I don’t know if Jon Wood is a con artist or his site is having money problems. All I know is that I made a deposit and I’m unable to withdrawal my money and my account balance is at zero. I also have a nice collection of email from myself and Jon Wood I'd like to forward my email collection to you. Just ask.

Debbie Evans: Welcome to live chat.
Debbie Evans: How may I assist you today?
The Player: What happened to the money in my account?
The Player: I had about $160.00. Now there's nothing there.
Debbie Evans: Did you have money in your account, sir? Debbie Evans: Let me check your account.
Debbie Evans: One moment, please.
The Player: please do
Debbie Evans: Sir, I will have to inquire this with our management. I would like to find out why your money is not available in your account.
The Player: So would I.
Debbie Evans: I would like to apologize for this inconvenience.
The Player: It's not your fault.
Debbie Evans: I would be either emailing or calling you as soon as I receive a reply regarding your issue, sir.
Debbie Evans: I expect to have some information for you no later than Tuesday.
The Player: The last I heard Jon was giving me an extra $10.00 for pointing out an error in the software.
Debbie Evans: If I receive a reply sooner, then I will inform you.
The Player: by email?
Debbie Evans: The thing is that the balance was withdrawn by Mr. Wood.
Debbie Evans: I have to contact him and inquire why this happened.
The Player: thanks for your help.
Debbie Evans: I will also remind him of the credit that he was supposed to give you in case he did not give it.
Debbie Evans: You're welcome, sir.
Debbie Evans: Once again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Debbie Evans: I will make sure that this is sorted out for you.
