I just had to show off a bit. :D Here's a hand where AK suited worked out perfectly. The guy who re-raised me pre-flop was a HUGE fish/donkey playing marginal hands as if they were AA and chasing back-door flushes, and other miracle-type hands. So, that's why I was comfortable calling his big raise.

He exited stage left in a hurry! :p After a few of the less-than-cordial players at the table made fun of him...poor guy.

Very nice. Maybe you could've sweet talked him into staying and playing another hand or two ( Oh-I just got lucky, you really are playing well, etc.) ;)

Guy must have been on drugs or maybe it was a jilted girlfriend emptying ex's account. How the hell can he call your bet with that?

Tammy, do you usually play 2/4 no limit? Bit out of my league! (happy birthday by the way - shouldn't you be doing something better than being on site??? ;) )

He had been making those kinds of calls the whole time. Crazy, huh?

To answer your question, no, I haven't been playing at that level, but I have had a phenominal week at Titan (best ever, for me, anywhere)! I deposited $25 last Friday before our buy-in, and have since ran that up to over $600 (small potatoes to some of you, but for me, that is HUGE)! So I have had the room to move up in limits, and it has been fab. A lot better play than the $.10/$.20, $0.25/$0.50 I normally play at! :p But this was my first session at the NL cash games. I had previously been playing the limit games $1/$2, $2/$4, then $3/$6 before that. It just seems lately that my game has finally turned a corner...let's hope it lasts...I'll probably be posting a bad-beat sob story next week! :p

Oh, and yes, we'll be going to dinner later and playing a bit of poker at the local casino. :D Right now I'm just being a lazy bum and rummaging through CC! :)

No doubt!, but let it be at 1/2 limit not 3/6 no limit. From bitter experience, I know the pitfalls of going through the levels too quickly - I won $100 in an hour at 1/2 limit on titan, $200 in an hour next day at 2/4 limit, went on 3rd day, only game going was 5/10 limit. Had a look, saw players were as fishy as the lower limits. 10 hands, hit 3 top pair and big kicker - EACH time the SAME opponent had a small pocket pair and flopped trips (or a set - i really can't be arsed to find out which term is right!) - 3 times in 10 hands! Bottom line, i was down $300 (2 days play) without making a mistake (I still wonder whether I was scammed - don't play on Titan any more).

Consolidate your winnings, go down a few levels, and see whether you can maintain form over long period!

Tammy with a $600 bankroll and playing N/L ring you should really be playing $50 max and at a push $100 MAX tables with a full buy-in for each session. N/L ring has vast swings that can break you in one session. The gains however can be massive, just make sure that your properly set up for it. Sit down set yourself some definate goals, when you will move up, and when you will move down.

Its also no harm to have a set goal for a withdrawal, ie reach $1000 cash out back to $500, there is nothing like a nice bit of handy cash coming in from your time on the tables as a little "reward"

Well done on the gains Tammy long may it continue.

Thanks for the advice Rob and TB...it is well heeded. I did actually withdraw about $400. That leaves me with $200 to play around with. Still much more than what I usually have on hand, to be sure. TB, what levels would you recommend playing with a $200 bankroll?

Hmmm id say your safe enough taking on the $25 MAX tables. That leaves you with a grand total of 8 full buy-ins, enough to let you play well within a comfort zone. Have a shot at the $50 MAX when you build up enough for 8 buy-ins at that level, ie when your up to $400.

Just a suggestion mind, its a conservative enough suggestion, but your better having enough of a roll behind you.
