I really like innovations, but innovations tend to bring some result or some strategic improvement. However, recently, when the Amaya Group was incorporated by the Rational Group, pokerstars changed drastically, including ending freerolls. Rewards programs are no longer as attractive as they used to be, nor are deposit promotions.
The fact that they haven't noticed yet is that what made many players take the risk of making a deposit and migrating from playmoney to real games was the freerolls. Otherwise, players would hardly risk making a deposit in a manipulable and online game. It is true that other types of gaming were included, such as sports betting and casinos.
I believe that if pokerstars follows this strategy for a long time it will lose market share, meaning it will no longer have new depositors.

The end of freerolls is not good news. But in any case, PokerStars is not available in my jurisdiction, so I will even be glad that many players will go to other poker rooms. They are digging a hole for themselves, driving out entire communities, removing tournament formats, reducing rewards for active players...

What cardchat players can do, boycott the Pokerstars system, is not make deposits and migrate to other poker sites, as pokerstars no longer sponsors them with freerolls on cardschat.
We have to learn to give to those who give to us and take from those who take from us.

Today I see that online poker sites are few, compared to sports betting sites. The hope is that new poker sites will emerge in the future, because in my opinion, current sites use a bot or mother platform, where the cards are already selected in advance and the player from a given place always wins or always loses.
Over the years playing at PokerStar, the perception I had was that sometimes there are players whose cards will always be winners, no matter their skills, and sometimes a certain player will always lose, no matter their skills.
These things will happen when there are few poker sites, when poker sites are regionalized, this tends to end, even more so if local governments regularly monitor poker tables.

Pokerstars employs advanced people, they had no income from freerolls, everything is thought out there, their income does not fall, many new players come every month.

I'll personally be playing wherever I choose, I'm not gonna be influenced by someone who is basically saying online poker rigged. I deposited because I want to be able to withdraw, and I do withdraw, cos I generally make some money over time, not just from freerolls, but a decent amount of my BR has been aided by them for sure.

I don't understand this attitude that the poker sites somehow owe us, or that they should have freerolls. People are already moving from pokerstars way before they stopped the freerolls.
I still like Pokerstars, its likely the safest site, but I play on whichever site has the games I want to play on that day....and will continue to do so! This is often Pokerstars

Any site certainly won't be influenced on how to operate by a bunch of freerollers who only play to take money out of the system.....as they are not their actual customers!!

In general, I agree with you. The policy pursued by the management of PokerStars will most likely lead to the loss of leadership and, accordingly, the loss of a significant part of the market. This is a mistake for which they will pay dearly. But personally, I'm not too worried. I've always liked 888 a lot more than PokerStars, and I think 888 has very good prospects.

freerolls can be a launching pad, but in order to really earn money, you need to play for money and move according to limits))At pokerstars, their innovations have only gotten worse and worse so far, it's not just about canceling freerolls. they used to have interesting promotions for the new year and Easter, now there is no such thing, now there is such a thing at the GG, which certainly attracts both new and old customers. it's interesting to play and get an additional bonus for it))

This phrase makes me think. All rich people use some niches, some seemingly legal actions to keep as much as possible for themselves, and to have as few taxes as possible. Why would there be an exception here?
