So if I deposit money on bodog is it still safe? see link

Feds Hound Bodog - Forbes.com

What about all the repors of it taking 40+days to get money off the site?

I read the article and I can only give you my opinion on this situation. The 40+ days thing is true and it is something they are working on to get under control. In my opinion your money is safe on bodog and you are dealing with good people. These type of things can happen on any site so you should always be cautious but I as well am waiting 40+ days for my money and am confident I will receive it as I always have in the past.

This is a direct quote from Bodog for your question.

"There are many jurisdictional considerations that must be taken into account before we decide to open to new markets. Although Canadians are not eligible to receive Bodog Entertainment betting accounts at this time, we are continuously studying new jurisdictional landscapes and have a major expansion planned for 2008 and 2009, which may include Canada."
Thanks for the info.

Buck I believe Bodog is very against the idea of P2P transfers but I'm not quite sure. In my opinion, I don't believe they will add that but I will suggest it and you guys should also email them and suggest as well.

So, SPC420, do you work for Bodog, or consult with them or just play there or what?

Just curious.

I am on the opinion panel that several other players are also on but I am gathering feedback for them for their new beta version to make it as best as possible cause it's the only site I play at. I don't work for Bodog but I stay in contact with them and pass along my feedback from other players which they use to improve their software and improve overall players experience there.

I have somewhat of an update of the article in Forbes too. I won't say much until I get all the facts but the article is very misleading and is giving people the wrong impression of the site. All deposits, payouts, and everything else is pefectly safe and players should not worry about their money on Bodog.

this is what I saw as bodogs response

An article was recently released on Forbes.com that creates several misimpressions that the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group feels compelled to clarify for our customers.
As most of our customers already know, all operators outsource payment processing functions to third parties and these payment processors are subject to regulatory constraints wherever they operate, and, occasionally in the US, are subject to legal action because of the uncertain legal environment there.
However, the seizure of funds from these US payment processors was mischaracterized in this article, which refers to two specific legal cases against US processors. Rightly or wrongly, the article does not make a clear distinction between these cases, which, as a result, paints a misleading picture.
The facts are these: the first of these cases - relating to a seizure of funds from a processor known as JBL Services - happened some time ago and has absolutely nothing to do with the current payment processing challenges being experienced in the US. The constraints being experienced by payment processors in the US are universal in that region and not specific to any particular processor or site. Also, note that not one single player failed to get paid when this processor was disrupted.
The second case refers to a payment processor known as Zippayments.com and seizure of funds from this processor's bank accounts in Nevada. The article falsely implies - but notably does not go so far as to state - that $9.9M seized from Zippayment's Nevada bank accounts were funds on account for "Bodog". This is simply false.
Processing partners with whom the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group does business are sophisticated organizations that are perfectly clear as to the actual facts of these cases and their contexts. They are unfazed by such media hype and Morris Mohawk wishes to ensure that its customers are similarly informed. Customer deposits are safe and every player has and will always be paid.

Sounds like an old saying applies here. "Don't confuse me with the facts. I've already made up my mind." Anything to build up a little more hype to sell their magazine!! :deal:

So true. They could attack any site but they chose Bodog. Don't hold it against them they are the very best among poker sites for customer service for one thing.

faster cashout

why is the cashout for checks to the us 40 business days? thats like 2 months? is the rapid tansfer quicker? if so how does it work? im a new player to bodog and like the beginner sngs and 500 freerolls .. but if the slow payout keeps others from playing there i ll probably stick to pokerstars and full tilt

Player to player transfers
Some deposit/ withdrawal methods that are actually workable
Some assurance, under the circumstances, that player's monies are gonna be there next week/month/ whatever, AND that players will be able to get to them.

From what I heard, there was a disruption at the payment processors which is causing the delay in the checks and the checks are backed up. They will arrive, unfortunately it is just going to take some time.

Personally I don't like bodog. I do not like the table set ups and do not like how it laggs my computer down so I stopped playing there. I prefer something where I can change the table sizes and play on as many tables as I want. I am spoiled I guess.

Rapid Transfer is using MoneyGram. You must deposit using MoneyGram (Minimum $100) to be able to use it as a withdrawal method. This method gurantees your money will be received within 3 business days but it is usually more like 24-36 hours. It is also a minimum of $100 for a withdrawal using Rapid Transfer (moneyGram).

I also agree on being able to see your current position in a tourny, I think it dictates how some people will play. I would also say varied tournment games, not just hold em but omaha, horse, stud.

Sloans do you mean force him to make a decision with less time than they normally give you if he continously takes all the time he can?
That would be a terrific idea! How many times have you played in a large tourney where somebody insists on taking all the available time? A personal per peeve.

Rankings during the tourney, bigger chat box, better sound, buddies list, find player. Tourney lobbies that actually work. When you try to go to a second table-it gives you table 1. Dependable scroll bars.

I have been a loyal player at bodog for a while, the first thing you need to do is add a horse game to your site, as that is why I am considering switching to full tilt. Also, it would be nice if there were more rewards for poker points, like an hourly cash tourney or two instead of those lame tourney dollar tourneys that are way overpriced. Also you could improve your bonuses, I have deposited something like 8k there over the past two or three years and received a total of less than 2 percent in bonuses pretty damn week. Also improve your Random number generator. You should reward loyal players more but you guys dont and thats probably another reason why I will switch to full tilt soon.

You are now able to seperate the chat box from the table and it allows for easier chatting during games. Friend finder is not a bad idea and that is one suggestion I have left out.

When you said your site I just want to be clear again, I do not work for bodog. I am gathering feedback, suggestions, and comments to help them create better software. Any of you could do the same thing I am doing but I am doing it because they have been very good to me and I just want to show my appreciation.
