Damn this suck cuz i only play at full tilt hope everything works out and they stay in business.

It is unlikely to knock FT out of business. There have been other "money laundering" suits related to FT. A few months ago, the feds indicted a guy who was acting as the bank to process US deposits and withdrawals (presumably). The NY feds are the same group that grabbed millions of bucks of depositor money, what was it?, last year? ANd remember when the UIGEA was first passed and some bigwigs/former bigwigs of related enterprises were picked up when they came into the US?

So this action doesn't surprise me at all. Going to be rough for the US pros with business connections to FT -- but that, also, has been one of the known risks.

The NY office seems to be under the impression that online poker are gambling enterprises and that any money going into and out of them is necessarily laundered dirty money. That is the US government position, anyway. And, under most laws, running any sort of gambling enterprise for profit without a valid license, is a criminal activity. Until and unless the US decides to regulate and tax online poker rooms, this position will remain valid. Note that this doesn't make gambling (or playing poker) illegal (although it is in some states); only the running of the enterprise is illegal.

This is a separate thing from the UIGEA, which tells banks that they cannot get involved in financial transactions with online gambling sites.

This is hardly news, given that large companies with big work games always end up in the news for fraud and other things.

American politics and legislation is so complicated.
Wouldnt it be easier to do like us in Europe.
Have a king who decides everything.
Is there a King over all of Europe? I thought it was only the UK and they had a Queen. Did I miss something? Hmm...

Government is trying it's best to get some money from all these winnings. I think this is the only way they can think of for the moment.
