I think it more in the lines of goodbye online poker, cause after this i think that the U.S Gov might look at this saying this is why we do not pass the bill.

...or they could say "this is why we need to pass a bill". The reality is that there is still tax revenue there for the taking and they'd be stupid to pass up on it.

Not to mention that corruption has often not been reason enough for the US Gov to put a line of business out of reach.

reading tom dwans posts it looks like ftp and agcc meeting is a massive fkin slowroll on the players on full tilt.they have no chance of reopening. dwan puts it down to when the processors were hit american players from summer 2010 were depositing the cash was appearing on their fulltilt account but fulltilt could not take it from their bank accounts. somewere around 130mil. did any of the us players on here notice their accounts were not being debited but deposits were on ft account. somthing not right

I don't understand how US players were depositing money but it wasn't leaving their accounts? Is this right?...and why didn't you notice?

I doubt anyone really knows what is going to happen with Full Tilt. I do miss that site and wish it was available to play again. Hopefully things can be settled and we will all have it available to us. Would especially be nice to get paid what is owing us.

It wasn't all of us lol. And some did notice - that is why we remember seeing posts about it.

Full tilt had big flaws in thier depositing system. I made a deposit of 300 and never got charged for it. I had two cards on file which I made a deposit on the quick depsoit option. I thought it would charge my card i mad my last deposit on but it charged the card I had originally set up with quick deposit. It charged my card I had no money on and it got denied. I never got asked to repay and I still was able to make future withdraws and deposits. It has taken FT up to 12 days in the past before my card was actually charged for my deposit.once I figured out what day they would charge me sometimes I would deposit with no money on my card and reload it before I got charged. I think there was a lot of money deposited and lost before FT could even collect the funds on Blackfriday. Don't know if a weeks worth of credit card deposits would add up to 150million for us players but, I think this flaw has a part in the FT collapse. Sorry, If me not repaying money I owed pisses you off but how many people are really that honorable. I expected to get charged eventually and still wont be surprised If I get a bill some day

Apparently the lawyer for FTP is urging players on 2p2 to message the AGCC to delay their ruling for 30 days:

Post this:

Thank you for asking how you and other players can help. Right now it is important to encourage the AGCC to delay any ruling for a minimum of 30 days in order to permit a timely transition to a new ownership structure. The AGCC is aware of the identity of the new ownership group. It does not involve anyone associated in the slightest way with the current FTP membership. I plead with all of you to do this and unite in this one effort. A negative AGCC ruling will cause all efforts that have been undertaken to secure this investor group to fail and leave customers in the cold. It is not necessary for the AGCC to issue any negative ruling now. The company is not operating and there are investors truly interested in closing a deal with the company. I can assure you that the investor deal includes repayment of ALL player obligations. We have come too far in these months since Black Friday to let this fall apart now. Please.

not sure what to make of it yet. last second hail mary?I sent an email. I guess it can't hurt. Tho I'm hearing they may have already revoked FTP's license.

I wasn't around then but yes, they probably were saying those things. Which is why I've been saying all along, our side of the debate needs to make this about money and jobs, not freedom and rights, because the opposition's emotional arguments trump ours so badly it's not even close.

I don't understand how US players were depositing money but it wasn't leaving their accounts? Is this right?...and why didn't you notice?

As Dakota mentioned, some players did notice. I don't think many people realised how widespread it was though - most just wrote them off as isolated incidents, and I certainly don't think anybody realised the amount missing added up to almost half of the funds in circulation on the site.

If I understand correctly, the money wasn't being debited from player accounts because of the legislative environment and payment processor issues in the US. poker sites couldn't debit the money directly, they had to use intermediaries to disguise the transactions (as golf balls, flowers, etc, as publicised on Black Friday) and these intermediary processors were getting shut down all the time.

If any other members here deposited at Full Tilt, their FT account was credited with the deposit - but the money was never taken from their account - please pm me asap. (Not gonna give you grief!!)

Thanks!

There were also threads on 2+2 about payment processors re-charging some players months after the original charge so some had been charged 2 or 3 times for one deposit. I think generally the payment processors just didn't have a clue.

I've listened to a payment processor do an interview(s) post BF and he shed a lot of light on how this stuff works. Google/2+2 search Chuck Kidd.

Anyways cliff notes as I understand it ...

Go to where ever ... say Walmart ... buy golf balls with your visa...
Walmart gets charged 2% juice from the payment processor. Payment processor has procedures to follow book keeping wise and classifies this transaction as a 1234 ... all sporting goods are 1234 (I made up the 1234 number ... don't know the actual code)

Go to McDonalds ....buy some happy meals with the same Visa. Micky D's gets charged 2% ...payment processor code 5678 ... fast food.

Goto Online gambling site ... make deposit with Visa... Online site gets charged 6% ... payment processor code 9999.

Like I said ^^^ don't know exact codes and percentages, but basically why you saw golfballs on your charge card instead of Tilt was to shave incredibly high juice. That and all 9999 were under scrutiny post UIGEA in the US

Bank Fraud ... Money Laundering.

there is SOOOOOOOOO many "bad" things that the GOVERNMENT doesn't want us to introduce to our children.. who the **** are they to tell us what we can and cant introduce to our children? i'm so tired of government bs...
you mention playboy, hustler.. porn industry in general.. then you think back to the twisted sister dude that was in courts fighting for music rights.. calling rock music "devil music"... then its about the violence on tv and movies... violence in video games.. etc etc...

I dunno about you, but there are a LOT worse things out there than playing online poker... can it be bad?? sure, of course.. if you don't know how to properly set limits and be smart.. but there's so many other things out there that are FAR worse.. And if we in the U.S. dont get to gamble with poker online, what do we do? we simply find other means of gambling lol.... whether its sports books, horse racing, whatever...
Bottom line is this.. enough with DENYING us the opportunity to play and learn how to EMBRACE it and make it work for this country.. look at all the states that have legalized gambling vs the ones that dont, they make MILLIONS a year to help with their roads and whatever else they need the money for...

enough bs

Honestly, i do not gamble besides playing poker and blackjack. Thats it, i hate slots, sports betting, anything that I have NO controll over i hate and will never or RARELY do. Craps, and roulette sorry i played them maybe 2 times. and was the WORST feeling ever! At least with poker and BJ i can choose my plays and effect the games outcome or for the least my own. :)

With that said.

The gov is trying to just find money somewere, thats why online poker is down for NOW, bc all the money they have not been making off of it. It will come back soon, well it already has, but it will be much bigger in the future after our gov has gotten their greedy palms on it :D

I think they'd want to pass a bill...it's in their best interest. People WILL find a way to play regardless...
btw..why doesn't anyone play rakefree? I switched to the rakefree rooms after Balck Friday and am pleasantly surprised how much cash you can save by not paying rake. Plus the players are weaker after playing in pokerstars and Fulltilt. Strange! I'd rather play in the less well known rooms than to keep on feeding the rich.
