Maybe they will if it helps the economy. However, they don't want Obama to look like he's helped with the deficit. More and more sites are now allowing US players. Not sure how or why but I'm happy about it.

tax witholding...

I claimed some winnings ($130) and once claimed was told there would be 30% tax withholding...I'm Canadian. I don't know if US players pay this withholding...I was surprised as I have played in brick and mortar casinos in LasVegas and have only been charged the withholding when winning over $1200. When I asked, ClubWPT quoted an IRS statute, but wouldn't address the difference in their actions versus brick and mortar poker rooms.
edit...it's only been a week of waiting for me. I'll post back when I get paid.
edit2...have to wonder what happens when you win an item like a TAG watch or a trip to WPT camp. Doess the club make you pay them the withholding before they disburse the prize?

Except for withholding...that's really IRS...I'm a happy camper...money is spent.

You can play @ Club WPT for free.

You can play poker on Club WPT for free if you follow the instructions under "Terms & Conditions" section 9 part 5. This is the reason that Club WPT is legal in USA. Even for free Club WPT sucks. They allow way to many players in there tourneys. The tourneys end up being equivalent to a 5-10 cent buy in (950+ players in a $50 tourney). I wuld rather play freerolls on Merge or Revolution sites.

I didn't know you could play on it for free. I just never was that interested to pay money to play in freerolls. I'd rather just play on the normal sites, for free, and try to cash in their freerolls.

I would check this out, but I recently heard that it no longer allows Florida players. Has anyone heard anything about that?

Club WPT is FULL of people that go there everyday...know each of other and "Collusion" is rampant. They communicate and know each others cards. ( It doesn't take long to notice, they aren't very good at it)... Club WPT does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to to try to control it or even discourage it in any way. Also, if you are a seasoned player from previous site like pokerstars and FullTilt, you know that some players have something, I truly don't know their advantage ( spyware/software) but they definitely have something....( you'll have a cheat push, push, push the pot...THEN..predictably draw their inside straight draw, and you lose when flopping trip aces. It happens a lot)...again..Club WPT does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to to try to control it or even discourage it in any way. They like their regular paying customers, who apparently can do anything they like. 3 month subscription was enough for me. Never again.

Hey Chatters,

I really appreciate all the input about WPT. There are some great write up on here about the WPT and it give one a good idea about what they are getting into. That is what is so great about being a member of CC.

In any event, what I have read here, I would not touch WPT with a ten foot pole.

I would like to give the readers a warning, just in case they are unaware:

I belonged to one of the clubs before Black Friday (and they stiffed me big time) but, the warning is: If you get the first month free and want out, be sure to notify them, as they will automatically deduct the $20.00 monthly fee from your account. That is what happened to me in the site I belonged to.

Also, after Black Friday, the site I belonged to (not WPT) just closed their doors and left all the members hanging, with out any pay outs.

My suspicion is, maybe they closed their doors and opened under a new name; WPT you think?

To give credit where credit is due, clubwpt is affiliated with the WPT (WORLD POKER TOUR). I've won some money on there and they paid out pretty fast but the player pools are very large (over 1,000 especially in big money or big prize tourneys) so i just don't play there anymore since there are other places with smaller pools of players.

club wpt is a fun and nice way to play poker i say is a nice way cuz you only pay a monthly like 25 bucks and you play really good tournament 1000$ 2000$ even one of 10000@ also the have tournament for wpt live event and all feel like a freerolls so no streess well maybe a little bit cuz that site have crazy bad beats the part its suck for me is that they no acept florida players they did it for 2 months son now in back on carbon only
