This is just an update for any new players that want to play live tournaments but want to keep the intial buy in low.

Platinum in Grove City
Monday $25 tournament.
Friday $25 super turbo tournament. Start with a short stack and blinds go up every 5 minutes. This tournament is more fun than serious and you have to get one heck of a run of cards.

Gemini in NE Columbus.
Thursday $20 rebuy tournament. Good bang for your buck (if you don't rebuy) and probably best structure for low buy in. Good field size also.

Columbus Sports Club (CSC) just north of Worthington
Sunday $25 tournament. Nice club, good structure.

Evergreen in Grove City
Thursday $20 tournament
Friday $20 tournament with one add on

If anyone know of any other regular low buy in tournaments please list them.

Are these all considered private clubs?

They are considered private gaming clubs. They all offer various games from chess, checkers, backgammon, pingpong, pool, card games (including various forms of poker). Each club offers different games but all offer poker. Each club has annual memberships from $1 to $60. Most are $25 per year.
Each time you visit you pay some form of a daily use fee to be in the club.
