Not a big fan of the anonymous system. I used to love jet set poker, if anyone remembers.

I remember I spent hours upon hours running up from $0 to $125 or something like that on JetSet and then one day I went online and it said "F@#$ You! We stole your money, LOL, here is an email we don't check, feel free to complain to that"

I'm thinking of playing Bovada for the heck of it and running up from $0. I have already accepted that I will probably never see that money, but am holding out hope.

I love Bovada. I do not mind the annonymous factor of the site. They have got some good GTD MTTS on there, I like there Sit n gos as well. Cash games get decent traffic.

I am in bankroll heaven at Bovada right now! I seem to have found a niche at the triple-sng. I am not very sure footed at the cash tables though; I feel as if I am bullied as soon as I take a seat huge raises or all-ins pre-flop and erratic betting. Maybe it is just me I seem to prefer the slow patient approach needed for freerolls and sng.
I like the privacy of Bovada it suits me though

Oddly enough, I keep getting killed in the MTT by horrible, but lucky players, then I go to the cash game for an hour, and I'm back! Largely due to same bad players...

Weird, huh?

I hate Bodonka but one thing it does have going for it, I've always been able to count on getting paid. I rarely play on there (played my 2nd mtt ever on there tonight but then had Internet problems (disconnecting constantly) aside from a few shots at the $100k gtd. I deposited $50 on there & have cashed out over $2k & getting ready to make another WD shortly. Other good thing about the site (trust me though when I say hate everything about anonymous tables) the play is weak (ie. lots of high blind limping, raise/folding to 10bb stack shoves, 4 & 5x open raises in mid-levels (or more!), calling from blinds on 20bb stacks & c/f flops, etc. etc. All the stuff you expect weak players to do regularly. Bodonka is full of them.

Oddly enough, I keep getting killed in the MTT by horrible, but lucky players, then I go to the cash game for an hour, and I'm back! Largely due to same bad players...

Weird, huh?

No. Sounds standard to me.

Does Bovada accept netspend or prepaid cards? I had my card declined. How do the american players deposit money onto the site? Is western union the only option?

They take visa, but that might not be the problem

I don't think so. Just contact them, they can tell you.

I have heard that some banks who issue your visa card refuse the transfer. I would imagine they are afraid of Uncle Sam causing them trouble, accusing them of money laundering, etc. So, I would also ask Bovada what national banks are not a bunch of spineless worms, and open a free account with one of them. A separate poker account is also a good idea, just in case the site's info on you is compromised. This happened to someone I did business with and my bank contacted me immediately, so I could get a new card. Still do not feel good about it!

Does this suck or what? Our Government should fear us, not us fear our Government! Anyway, let me know what you find out, we can post it to help others.

I currently hate Bovada with a passion. Getting sucked out on 2 or 3 outers on the river all weekend will do that to a guy.

Hating it right now, i'm on a "variance downswing" it sucks. Think i'm gonna take a break for a week or two. Don't need the added stress.

Sounds like you both have the same problem. I know it will get better for you, I hope it turns soon.:)

I have really enjoyed playing at Bovada myself. I have also been making a good amount of money there too. I think the main reason why I do so well is that I never really payed attention to names and notes in the past. At least as much as I should have or said I did.

Now, I did take notes in the past and I did mark players on PS and FT. I just had a good habit of mentally marking players without doing that and if I forgot to take notes or mark them I still could make a pretty sound decision based off of memory.

Also, one of my most profitable games were the Rush games on FT and as we all know, notes were close impossible until the final table. Another reason why i think I do so well at Bovada.

The cash outs are amazing compared to anywhere else imo and my bank has actually went from the 4-6 week hold on foreign checks to about a week if they are from canada and immediate if they are from the Bank of America in China due to me being so frequent ;)

Good luck to everyone on Bovada...it still saddens me to type this and know that not too long ago I was making wire transfers from poker clients to my bank in just a few days :/

God Bless America  :musicus:

I like playing cash full ring games on NHLE. I also play limit but not a lot of tables open. The anon feature is good since my game relies on not being tracked rather than on tracking other players.

I'm not too fond of Bovada, can't seem to rein in my variance on the site. Perhaps I'm just not a good online player...

Well put. I think you will be a better player for that, certainly at live games; cannot whip out a HU computer program at the tables, lol.

I like Bovada because they do more as far as tournaments and guaranteed prize pools. But I've been making a transition to cash games and Black Chip Poker is great for cash game players.

Bovada is my best site. Cash outs are quick. Once my account got hacked into and they played all my money $372 on one hand and lost. After contacting Bovada about it, they replaced my $ and all I had to do was change my email and password. Great site.
