There were and will be, personally I think that the owners of the bots themselves sites(((( but again this is my personal opinion without any arguments and specific charges in someone's address.
i hate to spread this around but i half believe it is the sites - how hard would it be to find these bots, just run a diagnostic on players and see who plays 24 hours a day - and then duh - there it is, easy peasy, but they dont do it - why?
....We know that bots do exist. The question is, how to exploit them?. Anything mechanical can be exploited once we know their tendencies. Any ideas ? Maybe time to do some research. It could prove profitable. I read somewhere that bots only raise and fold , i doubt that , but someone out there must have an idea of a bots main tendencies.now when you wrote this,I'm starting to believe that bots actually exist

Can anybody translate?
Anyway, there was no misconception. You asked us to estimate the percentage of players that are bots, my estimate is zero. You cant prove they exist any more than I can prove they dont.
Bot-tard is just another thing losing players have to blame, rather than their own ability (or lack of).
You weren't aware that there are bots playing online poker? I'm actually very surprised by this. Haven't you ever played on a site where the site will come onto your chatbox and request that you type in specific words, showing that you're not a bot? (this used to happen on Stars alot, years ago).
The orrifice man said:unless you're referring to 'a' bot (as opposed to 'b' bot, 'c' bot, a1 bot, etc.).
.........Have you perchance been ingesting magic mushrooms which are quite prolific out there in British Columbia ? Everything i stated makes perfect sense.allamericanboob,
Are you referring to 'a bot' or a 'bot'? Because I have a feeling that there'd be a wide range of different bots & an even wider range of how they're programmed to play. So to wonder what a bot's main tendencies are doesn't really make sense... unless you're referring to 'a' bot (as opposed to 'b' bot, 'c' bot, a1 bot, etc.).
Even if I could spot a bot what could I do about it? Can only hope development of bot busters!I play regularly on BOL, thier freerolls and micro MTTs. I don't believe everyone with a foriegn location display is a bot. BUT I have noticed patterns in some of thier plays that makes me suspicous. Only because I've noticed the same exact patterns from players with relevant locations. ALL in ALL it's really difficult to say whether any player is programmed or real. All we can do is speculate, without proof or hard evidence it's all just theoretical. I have read articles by old pros saying they have been paid to program bots. I do believe they exist but the thing is, it's cyber space. No real way of knowing. When I played on Pokerstars YEARS ago before it's tragic departure from the United States, I remember being sent a Bot / Real person check after winning a MTT by Pokerstar's security. Perhaps if all sites did this and continued to do so in several tecniques we could elminate alot of bot play. But to completely eliminate the problems existance, in my opinion is impossible.
