When you step into poker Apps, it can be confusing to know which room to join and where you belong. Most of the time, we go in expecting to lose a bit of money, but the question is where. I've been there too, and I realized that at the start, I overlooked the free game options that many websites offer. Not all poker rooms have these free areas, though, so it's important to explore and practice with play money before you start playing with real cash. This gives you a chance to understand the environment, make any necessary changes to settings, and get comfortable with your betting style. So, my advice is to take some time to practice without risking money until you feel confident about your approach.

I think it's pointless because playing with play money won't teach you anything.

only a player who just learned about poker yesterday needs to play for free chips, otherwise it makes no sense, it's not possible to learn how to play poker there, I recommend starting with freerolls

I'm going to have to disagree on this. As a new player, playing play money games can cause one to develop bad habits. So, when you start playing for real money, it could cause you to lose more money in the end.

Best course of action would be to study, study, study, if you really want to dive deep into poker. And when you're ready, if you don't want to put any money into it, start with freerolls. Preferably private freerolls like the ones that CardsChat provide, because other freerolls could be much longer, with little payoff, and could also help a new player develop bad habits. Or if you do want to put a little money in, start with a small deposit and work your way up from the micros practicing good bankroll management.

Can someone direct me to where I can play free poker to develop skills before playing for money. I have tried different sites, currently using wsop but it is a joke, hands are computer generated to give flushes, straights, full houses, trips on almost every hand, you can even tip the Dealer to get better hands. If you take a deck of cards and deal out nine hands your lucky to see a pair. SO HELP, where is a real poker site for free that does not generate winning hands ? Thanks much in Advance !!!!!! Frustrated !!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you're right, but I don't think playing for chips is a good idea. I don't think they're playing poker. In my opinion, it's better to take a sum that you can't afford to lose and play.

I agree that this can be very helpful to get accustomed to the look, feel of the software and to adjust your settings (bet slider, appearance, etc.).
You can also do this at 1c/2c tables though too.

You could give Jokerstars a try.
Other options include FullRiggedPoker, UltimateJoker, SportsDonking, AmericasRiggedRoom.

I couldn't agree more, I started playing on pokerstars for play money chips, and would lose almost every day. Luckily they would give you 2,000 chips to get you started and re-stack you for free, every time you went broke.
After watching a few videos on how the Pro's play I learned that it is not possible to see the flop every time and needed to be more selective in which hands to play, then making a few simple rules for myself, I began to win and built up a Play Money Bankroll of over 600, 000.

Rule number 1. if you don't have to pay, You don't have to Play.
Meaning if you are not already in the pot, and have not posted a blind, there is nothing forcing you to play that hand, then Fold it.

Rule number 2. If it's worth Playing, It's worth raising.
Meaning if you get a monster hand, make the best use of it and Raise, Put your opponent on the back foot and let them worry about what cards you have.

I have many more personal rules that have helped me build a real money bankroll on several different sites, but I don't want to give all my secrets away :):)

Hi
You can play freerolls without risking your own money :)
And thanks to this, you can even start building your own bankroll. Playing with conditional chips, in my opinion, is probably only necessary to familiarize yourself with the functionality of the poker platform.

I'd hardly disagree with this to be honest. If you are completely new to poker overall and just want to try out the game maybe, but I'd stop at that. If anything in play money you will just pick up bad habits by terrible players that play in that pool.

I think that a beginner should immediately play for real money so that the player learns to control himself in real tournaments.

I have 5.6 Millions play chips on PokerStars ))

Only on stakes 50K/100K there will be tight games, and play low limits makes no sense )))

Freerolls is better for learning, especially CC freerolls!

Yep, work on beating the playchipers and freerollers because if you cant do that then who can you beat? The same type of players you find in those games are waiting for you at the low limits.

Playmoney and most freerolls are more of a hindrance than a help. You adapt to win, but the field is very different from the real money field, so you develop a lot of addictions that will make you lose money later.

I think play money can help you with the basic table mechanics like blinds, position, etc.

To me freerolls are much better to work on your poker strategy.
