Arbitrary chat privileges on Pokerstars

After a rather heated couple of hands the other day, my fingers slipped and I used the F*-Word in the pokerstars table chat.

What I wrote was something along the lines of: "What a f***ing waste of a hand!"

The "*" are there, because I did indeed censor myself when writing that line in the chat. It wasn't at all that I wrote "What a ****ing waste...".

Nonetheless, the moderators immediately deleted my line (which is why there is no screenshot of it) and took away my chat privileges away for a week.

Given the fact that:
- Pokerstars is a place only for adults
- I already pre-censored myself in the chat

... their sub-zero tolerance policy is rather harsh and arbitrary.

On top was another player who called me an idiot in the chat (not sure anymore if it was the same game) and he got away with it. See the screenshot below.

Bottom-line: Be warned what words you use and don't use in the chat. If they are that sensitive, chatting about recent political events like for instance a trucker strike might get you banned for life.

Has anyone experienced anything like it on Pokerstars or another platform? I really hadn't expected them to be that sensitive on the language. Especially, since it's rare these days that players have a conversation during a game.

I had reached that status before I first played on PS, but I tend to agree with your assessment, you violated the adults only requirement. Get your pacifier & your favorite blankey, have an adultt in your home change your diaper & get some rest. You know how you get when you miss nappy time.

On a more serious note: The idiot hadn't been censored, because my comment got immediately deleted from the chat, his didn't. Why do you think the idiot went through? After all, I didn't insult anyone directly, if I recall the moment correctly. His commment on the other hand went straight at me.

Maybe the system automatically scan for certain "forbidden" words, which when used will call the attention of a moderator? And apparently "idiot" is not such a word, but the f.... word is, maybe because its thought to have sexual content? Anyway the easy solution to this problem is to just not chat

I thought so, too. It's rather strange though that the system filtered out a word that was blanked out in the first place.

Then again, the chat is more or less dead anyway. It used to be much more before the invention of smartphones. Today, there's simply not enough screen space for most players. Maybe the mods were just shocked that somebody wrote something in the first place....
