Nothing I've heard, I'm from California. I will say I don't think California will be one of the early states to allow it. We are close to Vegas which is generally against PS growing. We have many legal cardrooms which also will lobby against PS. Lastly, the regulatory atmosphere in California is not very conducive to this type of business. But... it sure would be nice ;)

From what I've read, any states that have previously passed legislation(like PA) are now being forced to re-work their sites to accommodate the new Wire Act Opinion. For example, PA was ready to go live with their poker sites until this "new interpretation" of the bill was announced, and now they have been pushed back and don;t plan to go live until Summer-Fall 2019.

I haven't seen anything new for Cali, but with this pesky Wire Act, I don't see them joining these other states anytime soon. And even if they do, expect a lengthy process until they can finally go live.

From what I understand there are two competing factions fighting for online poker in California. One group is pro-pokerstars and the other is anti. Here's hoping they can eventually get together on some effort to move forward with a legal option. California would be a huge deal if it was ever added to the existing compacts.

You are correct. Unfortunately, the future prospects of poker in California are slim to none, leaning towards the "none" side.

I've spoken with Chris Moneymaker and a few other PokerStars ambassadors/insiders and they've all told me there's pretty much no hope.

It's a shame too because I get down to Southern California about once a month. Would be nice to play on PokerStars. But it's not gonna happen. :(

I am mixed about the U.S. getting online poker back. On the one hand it would be nice to have that many new players on the site at one time on the other the tournaments would all take so long because there would be so many more people playing all the time. And the fields being much larger decreases your chance of winning and winning more consitently.

Stupid how they allow land-based casinos but you can not do the same online.
Surely it would make more tax etc as I presume stars must pay some ..
