As the first week of 2023 closes in, pokerstars seems to be going through some changes in ambassadorships with announcements coming this past week. On the International side of PokerStars, Pyefacepoker announced he is no longer an ambassador and with the PokerStarsPA platform, ambassadors Naigo1 and Accidental Grenade have completed their 2-year contract which was not renewed, in Pennsylvania. There are a number of other ambassadors from PokerStars who are not returning, as well.

While I do realize that contracts are made and completed all the time, this made me wonder why there are constant changes and what the future of PokerStars may hold. Do the changes help the brand? or is this business as usual? or are they looking to take a new direction? For the most part, we won't know till we see it for ourselves, but what do you think?

I am sure these are financial decisions - they have to feel they are getting value for them and if not it makes sense for them to release them. Ambassadors are very expensive for sites from what I have heard.

I think it's more a question of expanding the brand. For example, they reached in these 2 years of both ambassadors all the people who really follow them. Now they hire other people to attract new players with them, and so it goes... I think it's quite normal for this to happen

I'm also thinking this is not a new business practice for PokerStars. Like any business, there are times you need to freshen up the landscape which could mean many things. After all, looking into a crystal ball to determine what online poker will give the business in the future, would be difficult. So perhaps the sites have to try something different to help improve their business - changing up or releasing the PokerStars ambassadors doesn't seem too unusual to me. After all, all online poker sites are in the industry to make money.
