This type of tourney definitely will not help legalization in the US. Definitely won't help legalize poker in Alabama. I'm against it, but to each there own.

Wanna flip a quarter for a c-note

My take, All-in shootout/flipout is good for a fish and bad for a shark.

I am over all not a fan of them, but Carbon has the all in or fold mtts that I do think are fun and a nice change of pace when I am tilted or bored with poker.

They may encourage more casino players to come into the poker room which would be good for the poker players. I enter them with free tickets but if I wanted to gamble money I'd be playing roulette.

if its a pokerstars allin tourney its most often totally worthless, often worth like a 10 cents buy in. (like $10k with 100k runners)

If you play on other network its often worth way more (mostly worth 50 cents - $5) , sometimes even worth a lot if you search well!

You can win entries some times through promotions. Otherwise a waste of money. DO NOT pay for an all in MTT.

With alot of the bigger poker sites bringing in casino games, I think this will be a natural progression for them.... And not for the good of the game, this can only give more ammunition to the puritanical nay sayers & help them in there inevitable push for another black friday like event!
I hope that i am wrong, but fear that i am not!

Their is also a problem with their software that locks it up when the all-in tourney is running. I've been locked up playing proper tournaments due to these all in shootouts and have ended up shortstacked due to them. You would think that a company that claims to be "the home of poker" would be more inclined to promote poker rather than bingo. Don't get me wrong... I love pokerstars... but I'd much rather have a chance to use my skill as a player than play an all-in shootout.

I have never seen one at play. Wrong time slot for me.
I just enter & hope for the best.

What does support say about that. I use the P7 client & its not good at all with multi-tabling.

What is your attitude to all-in tournaments when players go all-in every round independently of their will? Player can even be absent and win. Would you spend some money or time on making tasks for taking part in it? Because it's not poker, it's lottery.

The Spin-n-Go promo has a lot of Fish playing these tables.
I haven't won much, if anything just above coming even.

The Shootout FR is just & bonus for me. If I get some cash, its all profit at least.

PKR has allin every hand, of which I am not a fan of. Occasionally, the AIOF games can be fun...especially, if you win or at least cash. :)

I hadn't thought of it that way. Still I'd rather not have these games lock my computer up as they seem to do. I've emailed PokerStars about this by the way and they say it's a problem they're looking into. I'm not bothering with February's challenge due to the problems that the all-in tournaments cause.
