I've already praised 888poker for good tournaments and promotions.
But, now I also have to offer my constructive criticism.
888poker has been doing negative marketing lately.
I refer to the large number of 1 minute tournaments.
For those tournaments that involve 5,000, 6,000, 10,000... players, it becomes very stressful and tiring.
All players I talk to have the same opinion.
Most beginners still abandon poker because they understand that the game is always like that, with no strategy and no time to think.
A good game with this amount of players can never have a time of 1 minute.
The fish end up betting without any strategy, making it difficult for the games to run smoothly.
what's your opinion on this matter?
I would appreciate feedback.
Thanks.

Yes, they turned many of their freerolls now to 1min. It's just a Bingo game now, not useful for training skills anymore. Just fold or shove and look what happens. The only advantage is, the games don't last very long

Exactly, while many pride themselves on having a more thoughtful game in poker, in these 1 minute tournaments, all that's left is to rely on luck.
Unfortunate.
I would like them to give a plausible explanation of this.
Do they understand that someone is going to improve their skills playing like this?

It even seems deliberate, for fish to continue to be fish.

Not sure the marketing or actual reason behind tourneys like that, but as everyone already knows, it comes down to an all in fest. The only ones like that i'll play are the free ones and that's only if i just happen to have a few min to spare and feel lucky. Would question anyone playing anything with a structure like that with actual money.

Although I often play in these tournaments, I honestly think this format is a bit crazy. In my opinion, these tournaments have nothing to do with the skills of the player, because literally everything is decided by luck.

This is not poker.

Are you talking about their Blast format? They aren't the only site to market this kind of all-in format.

They do have plenty of tournaments that are not all-in, although many have other flaws.

I don't have much time to play poker, so, I like those tournaments. It's over in 2 hours at max and if you reach FT. I know it's not poker and luck plays a big role, but my goal playing those 888 freerolls is to win money to play the tournaments that I really want to play.

So how long freerolls should last according to you then

It even seems deliberate, for fish to continue to be fish.

Or maybe more likely so people bust faster from the freeroll and then have time to play some normal games. After all poker sites dont make their living from freerolls, so they are only there to draw people to other games ;)

Absolutely love these games. Go and play some real buy-ins if you care so much and be happy 888 offers so much for free.

Pathetic to cry over something that is for free. Reminds me of the guy who compained here when ACR was running freerolls on demand 24 hours. They removed it shortly after.

I don't play on 888poker, so I don't know what a 1 minute tournament is. It sounds like a freeroll with lots of crazy action To be honest, it sounds like fun and something to not be taken too seriously.

I don't get what the problem is, though. If you don't like the games, don't play them. Are you upset about the game or because those playing it aren't play to your standards?

I don't think it's fair that you think my opinion is pathetic.
Also because anyone who has a little more organization can very well attract and encourage free games.
If 888poker wants to make freeroll games, there are many ways to also encourage and make the games livelier by making players stay focused on the game without kidding all-in, playing luck like a draw.
Example: puts games as Satellites with 3 minutes and limits on 3,000 players, qualifying for a seminal of another satellite on Sundays.
Sorting the best of each week for the last Sunday of the month.
It can be other forms of classification such as by countries, etc ...
There are many ways to make games more attractive and exciting than just launching them. We need the distraction.
I hope I have contributed.
Thanks.

Let me guess you are one of these people who thinks that freerolls should last longer than average MTTs right - this would explain why you are against (very) fast blinds.
10 minute blinds (in freerolls) are joke aswell btw.

You said something about people not having chance to improve their skills that way?
Isnt whatever play money thing more suitable for any "practice" cause that way you probably dont risk at all while in freerolls and tournaments eventual result is probably more important and it probably does not matter how you will achieve it.

Good afternoon.I play those freerolls and I like them.Of course, it would be better with the 3 minute blinds we had before but those games are really helpful to my bankroll.,so I am happy to see them everyday in the lobby to give them a try. With your earnings in those freerolls you could play tournaments that are more suitable to you mate.

As far as freerolls go I don't mind them much as there isn't much difference in play compared to 2 or 3 minute blinds, they all end up as push/fold pretty fast.

I would actually prefer if they did away with the 1 minute blinds and just went to the all-in format for those games. Just enter, hope for the best and see if you can be pleasantly surprised when you check to see how you did.:p

If you talking about Blasts where they become all in after around a minute - sure. But they not MTTs. Or the freerolls that have a very quick blind level but take way longer than a minute - I rather like them for freerolls, wouldn't play them for money though - but prefer them to a long drawn out match. Got 4th in one this week for $23 - but had (and needed to)have my TT make trips twice. So yeah, a healthy dose of luck needed

Hi!:)
I completely agree !I myself play them on 888 and I really like them, because they can increase the bankroll and do not last long. The format with a 1-minute increase in blinds, although it is similar to a lottery, but you can also adjust to it. And with the existing bankroll at 888, there are other formats with 5-10 minutes. As I said earlier, 888 is the best room for beginners and novice regulars.

888 Poker also have many tournaments with 10-12 min blind intervals. These are not free to play, but as with anything else in life "what you pay is what you get" ;)

Shhhhh. Common sense and reasoning isn’t required here

I’ve seen the same games. Even I don’t play these ones.

If CC ran one of theses formats though……wonder how many of you would say it’s WAY BETTER than other shitty forum freerolls and the gameplay is SO MUCH BETTER……

There was a thread in here a couple days back. Are freerolls any good at actually improving ones game or not. Most people said no, which surprised me. Seems to be a belief in here that not only are freerolls awesome, but you can actually build a bankroll. One guy even said he built up a $600 roll on freerolls alone, which is clearly bullshit. Would take 15 years to do that.

This 888 type of game is no better. And you have people going Captain Obvious by declaring the obvious. Wish similar logic applied to freerolls……..

I think this format is part of the strategy of 888s relatively new marketing - TV ads and such stating fun for all, the new 888 poker, etc. Attract new client demographic perhaps - get'em hooked and playing. If you enter one these freerolls you know it's just mostly an all out luck fest so enjoy it for what it is knowing there will be many suck outs on the path to winning something - I would not mind sucking out my way to a free $109 ticket for instance!

Being a freeroll I like it, they also have many daily and it is easy to get a decent bankroll in that poker room, once you have a bank, I do like its structure and how easy it is to play freerolls with tickets and without ticket:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

Imo these tournaments are just a kind of bingo or gamble for recreational players who can have a chance to win. 888 wants to keep those players. And if you want them to stay and deposit more, they have to win something from time to time. It is not poker.
