That sucks. Did pokerstars also leave Norway? I guess so, since thinking about it I see players from Denmark, finland and sweden (where I live) but no longer from Norway.... :(

888poker . Man ... When they leave a country they should inform players much earlier. 3-5 days before is not good enough . The same they did with Greece . They left , but before this they sent me an email , saying I could withdraw my cashier balance in 3 days , I saw the email after a week .....

This is just a terrible trend. A few days ago I received a similar letter from unibet. I am from Ukraine, and in the letter I received from Unibet I was informed that my account will also be closed in the near future as Unibet will no longer provide services in my region. Our prospects are not very good :(

Unibet will leave the Norwegian market in the end of 2024 according to rumours. Due to new ownership. It's getting worse.

So what's the real reason for exiting countries? Refuse to pay the taxes that the country is asking for?

I think its the Norwegian gambling regulators fault. They already forced last year Betsson, Unibet and Bet365 out of the norwegian market.
Norway has put in place a number of regulations to restrict the operations of unlicensed internet gambling companies. Among other things, this included prohibiting local payment processors from collaborating with unlawful websites and TV commercials that showcased unapproved companies.
I guess the license fee is just to much compaired to the profit they need to earn to cover the cost, plus all the other regulatory hurdles and restrictions. :(

This is already reaching the point of absurdity, I think that with such a policy in some countries, people will soon be specifically told where they should spend their money.

Same here. It looks like 888 is leaving everywhere, let's see where that's going to get them.

that is in fact illegal no matter what 888's FAQ say.
Was it a lot ? in which case you should definetly seek legal counseling

That's not true, Betsson are still open for us. And some of the other rooms belonging to the same network, like Betsafe and Coolbet,
But we have to deposit via a third party e-wallet , since Norwegian banks does not allow gambling transactions. Also we have to exchange the money to Euro to be allowed to play.

And there lays the main problem for most Norwegians, gambling transactions are not allowed from our local banks. It's very easy to use a third party option, but for the bigger casinos like 888 they just don't want to support smaller countries like Norway.

Fortunately some of the rooms are owned by Scandinavians and they offer us the third party wallet and then you have the crypto sites like ACR and GG where we do not experience any problems.

This is sad news and not a good trend towards which the world is moving ...
These restrictions are pointless, I feel for you.

888 and other poker sites handle those kind of things according to their TOS and he was for sure able to somehow cash out his money if his account was properly verified and nothing else was off. U think they are really just keeping his money? Like: "Oops u missed those 3 days, its now ours!"???

"Seeking legal counceling" as u say costs in most cases more than its worth (in his case 100%). And in the end ur chances are very slim since those rooms have everything covered up in their TOS (to which everyone has to agree upon registration. U basically AGREE that they can take ur money if something is off. Google Terms Of Service if u still dont get what it is. If u are also not able to do that here is a link:https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=Terms+of+service ).

The so called "facts" provided by u on this forum are most of time assumptions so please look in the mirror or do ur homework first before calling others ignorant 🥱

And if their TOS says that , their TOS is illegal...
The same with a contract...You can't simply put anything you want in it. it has to be in accordance with the law

He is for sure not telling the whole story. What did they say exactly? Where are those e-mails he exchanged with them?

Their TOS is obv in accordance with local law. Or u think they have some "G0930"s working for them who just randomly set those TOS up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thats my last answer to u ever. Should have already put u on ignore long ago for ur daily spamming and definitely missed it after u exposed urself softplaying/cardsharing in the pokerstars cardschat freeroll. Pathetic.

That is just rude. Do not say that about him....especially if you know nothing of the circumstance. That is not what his thread was about and changing facts to suit how you feel about someone does not make it true. I will not debate this here and you can ignore me too if you see that fits.

I do not know how it gets like this here. Lets be chill adults. No one is liked by 100% of the people but we can be respectful, just the same. Differences of opinions does not mean we have to take it personal or make personal attacks.

That sucks what happened to the OP <3 I hope they find a suitable solution <3
