7 Card Stud

Hey, me and a group of friends our going to play 7 card stud tonight for the first time, instead of holdem, we would like to use chips and have a buy-in. If anyone plays, could they please recommend, an amount of chips to be given out please, and what to have the big and small bet as. There is four of us, and we would like to play for around 3+ hours. There generally aren't blinds per se in a stud game, rather everyone antes a set amount. Doesn't really matter how many chips to start with really. Then the only decision is whether to play limit or no limit...
