Experienced casino/poker players know that this lady has moral principle.

Hat's off to her and her family.

Shes one of a kind.

Agree in part but I think she made it clear her specific issue was that there is (from her perspective) a difference between the essentially fair nature of poker, where we all take each other on with the same basic chance, and those casino games at unfavourable odds

I don't think she was suggesting that people couldn't get in bad situations playing poker

Fair nature of poker?
Really?

That feeling that everyone has a shot makes people lose a lot of money playing poker.

I wish her luck in her future endeavors, may she seek happiness in whatever she does especially the thing that she is most passionate about. May all your cards be live vicky! :)

"pokerstars.com will be rolling out online casino gaming alongside its internet poker. As a result, she terminated her endorsement contract with them."
poker stars is not the same place after Amaya takeover, they have different approach and business model. Take it or leave it, play there or not, it is personal and business choice.
She made her choice....

Really?

That feeling that everyone has a shot makes people lose a lot of money playing poker.

It isn't a feeling.

As long as the game structure is somewhat reasonable, players can be profitable IF they make superior decisions over the LONG RUN.

The issue is it looks like AMAYAstars is trying to shift from a model that allows a decent number of people to play poker profitably to one where more and more of the pie goes to the operator and less to the players be they profitable or losers.

Good for Vicki Coren, she is making the decision based on her morals and branding. She is a much bigger deal in England, and can make money at the BBC and other media endeavors there.

Last I checked, Vicky had actually posted some rather large losses on pokerstars, so they must have been paying her a substantial sum for being part of Team Pro. I really like Vicky, seen her on many TV shows and I'm delighted she has the moral fortitude to turn down easy money for what she believes in.

I find her moral dilemma a bit contradictory. She essentially says that everyone has the same chance in poker. However, her edge over any recreational player is definitely higher than the edge a casino has over a competent blackjack player..

I read once that if you're a winning poker player you are essentially your own casino. Your edge over your opponents will net you long term winnings and the short term variance keeps your opponents (customers) coming back. I respect her decision, It had to have taken a lot of guts..

I really admire Vicky. She's such a renaissance woman. I think I agree with her view and I.for sure respect her for doing what she thinks is right. I'm bummed that I won't be seeing her as much now.

I believe that her care is associated with the new leadership at PokerStars.
Also played the role to add the casino.
It is a good poker player, I think she made the right choice to leave the Team Pro.

I was shocked when I heard! What happened? She was an inspiration for all women in the world, telling us that if she can do it every women can do it, that it's no longer a men's game.

I agree, he doesn't need the money, and she can go on the principles. Think otherwise Vicky would not have gone ...
