I get why

im finally watching the main event now and i cannot stand this guy. I just watched the episode where he got eliminated and it felt good. The TV doesnt even do justice to the time wasting.

I get why people get upset about the time wasting. It also can be used as a strategy for chip leaders. They penalized the guy and put him on a timer. So their is a certain amount of time everyone is allowed to have to make a decision. I'm not making or defending an argument nor mean to offend u or anyone. online poker everyone is forced on a timer and lots of ppl use their time and time bank to make the blinds go up to push out the random shovers. i just see it as a strategy.

Player that talks too much. Any player on the table thats in a hand wit him should cal the clock after 2 minutes. If not he will just keep talking and talking and talking.

I laugh a lot with him. Something he did right, because of his results.
Whoever confronted him had almost never entered this situation of pressure,
so they became angry.

Kassouf is 100% correct and within the rules with his speech play, and whats more you can't say it doesn't help him. As soon as they add a rule to stop him, then people can complain.

As for me, it was kind of a nightmare. His constant talking about nothing, demeanor just wildly irritated me

If I was at the table he would be annoying as HELL!

But he does add a bit of interest to the game and something to talk about :)

i thought he was the only interesting about this years wsop .. watching so called pros lose it over a little friendly table talk was hilarious ... watching them gang up and bully him wasn't ... was very glad to see Qui Nguyen take them apart ;)

These " PC snowflake " players have ruined the game. Too much whining. " Safe spaces " do not belong in poker.

I thought he was quite entertaining at first, then annoying, and back to entertaining again after I saw the guy flip out on him during the AA vs. KK hand. Its speech play, hes allowed to talk to you if you choose to listen. If you don't want to hear him, put in headphones or something. In my opinion, he talked too much, but that's just me.

The real problem was the guy saying "check your privelage". He wasn't verbally abusing you. He was trying to get a read on weather or not you had AA. Then he proceeds to stand up and yell and scream. Give me a break guy.

I've got no problem with the way Kassouf plays, that is a big part of poker and if people can't take listening to some guy jaw on and on about his hand and his opponents hands then they shouldn't play poker.

Poker is a mind game and the goal is to induce the other players to make a bad play by either calling with worse or folding the best hand.

Speech play should be allowed.

This is right on...

IMO he had one goal: and that was trying to get opponents offtrack and not focusing on their game.
He was moving up the ladder because of this, but he forgot one important thing during this process: he was now 1 against 8 on the table, because everyone was trying to knock him out calling with mediocre hands.

Very silly and unthoughtful move on his behalf.
And of course now he also has more than half of the poker players around the world hating his actions, because it was live televised:eek:
So he got some really bad publicity.

Hope this is a reasonable opinion:smile:

I think that he should concern himself solely about his cards and his table image rather than about his celebrity.

He may have a problem with the speech play this year. Not only will the Tournament Director be watching him like a hawk, but everybody that watched the Main Event last year now has data on his ranges and how he behaves when he has a strong hand.

I did notice a pattern on him last year. He used two different styles of speech play depending on if he was bluffing or if he was strong. He didn't mix them up at all.

And remember - it wasn't so much the speech play that got the table on tilt. It was his slow play (waiting 15-25 seconds before even bothering to pick up his cards).

It ruins the integrity of the game and makes it a chore for all others involved.

Lets just say, i hope is behaviour changes or differ in a more informal game of poker.....for his sake.

Kassouf used the main event as a marketing opportunity for himself and it worked, before not many people knew who he was now everybody's talking about him and he's had all sorts of business opportunity. As stupid as a lot of people thought he was he is clever.

From the story I heard he was dragging every hand. Taking forever to play and make decisions. But he won a lot of money and he was on TV. He had a game plan and it was effective.

Aside from him taking entirely too long every hand, Im all for anything that will spice up how boring poker has become over the last few years.
