pokerstars joined forces with Power Poker (a women empowering organization) for an eight-week bootcamp designed for women who want to learn how to play poker but have never played before. Each new player was taught game-play skills by PokerStars Team Pro Jen Shahade, then played some small tournaments to practice their new found skills. that can be applied to real-world success including strategic decision-making, etc. Power Poker is one of a handful of organizations that serve to give women their own space to learn the game.

Louise Ulrick, of the UK, is the winner of this installment of the PokerStars x Poker Power Women’s Bootcamp Showdown which concluded at EPT Cyprus. She defeated nine other women who surged to the top during the eight-week, women-only poker bootcamp hosted by PokerStars. The prize for her efforts was a trip to the European Poker Tour Prague’s Main Event.

Power Poker is one of a few organizations that give women a space to learn the game. Only 40 women took part in this bootcamp.
