Just find another way to protest if you want. If these kind of things can ban you.

Like if 1000 regs block their account (for 24h) at same time right before prime time, i don't know if these rake changes applies for tourneys, but if it lets say a lot of MTT regs, do this before the start of guaranteeds , stars might have problems in some cases to meet them, thus creating an overlay.

Guess this will hurt them more.

Yeah thats what i tought also would be a nice way to protest. But people would love the overylay and i would be glad to play in them :D

I don't think they all knew they would get banned. And even so.. It's very sad to threat the people who want to host a protest this way.

In my opinion it is exactly the same thing like protesting in real life. Lets say you're working at KLM airlines. Your boss have lowered your income to a ridiculous price. You are going to protest. But because of the protest there will be a fewer flights that day. Will the boss ban those people and say bye to their job? Ofcourse not. We have the right to protest.

As Dave said ; They could have atleast understand it and suspend them to show to them that pokerstars is serious about this. Banning people for things like this is just really bad. Maybe it changes in a few years and those people want to play again?

agree 100%

Why do they care anyway?? If they are that pissed off they shouldn't be playing there - they have plenty of other choices.

That'd be like telling Sidney Crosby he can still go play hockey on the pond down the street.

Yes but there's a huge difference, they are NOT employees off pokerstars, just simply customers like every single other player there.

They are just customers of the site who are unhappy with a price increase,so what do we do when we are unhappy with something because there is an increase in price? We don't protest,we might moan a little but we just go to another service who are offering something cheaper but oh wait, there's no where else cheaper to go so they will stay at pokerstars because it's still the cheapest site out there. Pokerstars has done so much for players over the years, much much more than other sites out there. Hell, they even refunded the millions from FTP which probably included some of these regs whining. The players just expect way to much and kick off when there is an increase in price.

They knew the penalty before they did it - no need to feel sorry for them.

Of course the fact that they knew they might be banned has nothing logically to do with if that was the right thing to do, or if you may or may not empathize with the players who sat out.

AFAIK, and I don't know much admittedly, a lot of those players were basically going to stop grinding CAP HU games anyway on Stars bc with the huge rakeplosion on HU games they wouldn't be beatable by Phil Ivey even.

Now, that doesn't mean PS has to provide them with a game that is beatable......in fact, I wouldn't really be against getting rid of 20BB CAP games and forcing everyone to buy in for at least 40BB in abstract.

PS can do what it wants as a monopoly for the moment; the question is whether they are acting in the best interest of poker in general or even their own best interests as far as the long term.

I would claim they aren't....but we'll have to see what big changes (their own terminology) they have up their sleeves for the next 14 months. The way they revamp the VIP program for 2015 should be telling. If they simply take money away players, that would be a horrible sign. If they move promo money from huge multitablers to beginners/less volume regs to allow the micros the thrive a bit, that would be a good sign.

I won't be holding my breath.

I was just addressing the thread topic which is feeling sorry for them for getting banned. They shouldn't be looking for sympathy - they knew what they were doing. I doubt that most of them are even looking for it tbh. I would assume if they did it they are okay with getting banned - either that or not too bright. ;)

Man I'd be really sad if PokerStars banned my account. I love their software and they have good traffic day and night.

I respect PokerStars and I would not go on their site to create problems. However I hope they don't ban people if someone says something they don't approve on forum like CC.

They have never done anything like that before.

They banned players who (mostly knowingly) violated their T&C.

That sounds a bit extreme, seriously?a warning could have been good enough but an auto ban is just not having respect for the customers at all. I think the company is forgetting that it was the customers that brought them these rakes that they have been getting over the years. Banning these players aren't sending a good message at all!!

It will send the signal that Stars will not tolerate anyone breaking their T&C's.

T&C's that we all agreed to when we signed up to Stars.

No sympathy at all for those that got banned, they knew the risks.

I'm unsure what exactly they were doing? Did they protest by not playing on a given day? Or did they literally launch HU tournaments and just sit there forever? If it's the latter then I don't feel bad for them at all lol.

It was the latter - they sat at tables and purposely sat out so nobody could play on them.

if you were to sit on a HU table and sit out don't more tables spawn anyway? so it's not like there were no other tables to play on.... this is what happens with cash tables anyway, i presume this is where the sitout took place?

so a local restaurant, not the only one in town but certainly one of the best, increases it's prizes....
Me and my friends are not happy because we go to eat there everyday and if we continue to do so, it'll cost us some more money.....
So we all go there 1 day....get all tables and chairs occupied without ordering something while the rules of the house tell us we have to order......
Guess what's gonna happen.....

To sit out and protest Pokerstars is really stupid. Players should know that Pokerstars still have one of the lowest rake system in the industry. Years ago they have lowered cap rake from $3 to $2.8 at medium stake, while 888Poker still charges $4 !! They lower the rake once and raise the rake the other time, it's their business and they have the power to do so. Pokerstars do not own regs anything.

They're dumb lol. No wonder they got their accounts banned. I thought it was the other way around at first.

Not relating to this topic necessarily because I honestly don't know the specific details, but this idea that you can't protest against the actions of a company that you have potentially contributed thousands of dollars to because either (a) "You can just go somewhere else", or (b) "Well some other people have it worse, they can't even play on Stars!" is absolutely ridiculous

I don't know how to feel for thise banned players, it's like Pokerstars is the hand that's feeding you and you bite that hand. PS is so huge, we just have to adjust to the system considering they are still the best site there is.

I would think it would be better to write a letter of complaint to Stars to let them know you are not happy about it. The sitout really accomplishes nothing.

To support your protest, my respect PokerStars lost long ago.Need a strong competitor, they begin to do what you want. Monopoly in online poker it's terrible!!
