Something that caught my eye and I missed it since I wasn't staying on top of this years wsop results was what 80+ year old Poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter did in late June.

Billy has the second most WSOP bracelets (7) in non holdem WSOP tournaments (only behind Phil Ivey) and he came in 2nd place at Event 48 $1000 Seniors No Limit Holdem Championship!

What's incredible about this is Billy wasn't playing in a mixed game WSOP event with a few hundred specialists but he nearly edged out a field of 8,180 people while still taking down $473 212 for 2nd place in a NL Holdem tourn which is UNBELIEVABLE!

And ooh yeah, did I mention his first WSOP bracelet came back in 1975, lol? Sorry for that reminder, but I saw a pic of him at the seniors tourn and the guy looks slim and in good shape and its good to see him still grinding.

Anyway, he's known for being one of the best 2-7 players and more importantly he's know for his famous US court case were he went after the IRS to get the poker profession classified as a skilled profession ie classified as a business and not just gambling in the US.

That's important because US poker pros once they can show they're playing games as a business can take deductions and write offs giving them smaller tax bills and additional benefits.

This guy has won a lot in the WSOP over the years and is still helping so many US poker pros pay less tax every year so I was thrilled to see this guy still active and grinding.
