Just my opinion, I believe that until it goes nationwide and the states enter into some sort of shared agreement I am afraid the slow decline will continue until it finds its low end plateau.

I pretty much agree with this also. I think the majority of that gambling in New Jersey is probably coming from sports betting I would guess. the player pool for poker is probably still too small to attract a lot of players they are at the moment

New Jersey Online Poker

wsop is pretty lively, player pools include Delaware Nevada and NJ and pool is combined with NJ only 888 rakeback is almost non existent for recreational players

Stars promos go from ok to excellent and back to ok Two days ago excellent today ok
Cash turnover is excellent at the micros with contributors coming losing BR and being replaced so games are good but player pool never increases Sports tab in the poker lobby is a great convenience 30NL is very soft ABC will get the cash

MGM Borgata and Party share software and player pools I don't play there due to limited table selection and clunky software

I don't see Stars combining Pennsy and NJ pools Seems like Penn politicians are even more corrupt than NJ so greed will prevent a deal
That's about all I got

Poker is already banned everywhere, although the state can make a lot of money on it. It would be good to allow it in all countries, because in poker spinning trillions of dollars.

Nevada and New Jersey are pretty much screwed in all this. Too many casino's controlling the gambling. Nevada for sure will never have online poker beyond WSOP.com (Owned by Caesars).

I heavily agree with all of the above replies. The United States is being excluded heavily out of the online poker community, with very few sites allowing US players. Two states can not fix the damage alone, and it seems that a nationwide legalization of online poker could drastically solve the problem. Would sure love to see a day when I could play on pokerstars from the St. Louis area!

hmmm I was under the impression it is a new USA Banking Law that is the cause of the problems at the moment...?

I also saw a news article about Casino's in China being raided for ATM machines that gamblers could withdraw money from by passing the Chinese residents authorized gambling limits also in an effort to keep Chinese currency from leaving their country...

Billions of dollars are spent online and USA banking laws are being made on the back of keeping America from spending those Billions abroad.

Not good that a new cold war is affecting those good people who spend their hard earned wage where they want i mean its still a free country isn't it? or has it ever been?

So whats the story gonna be when the people in charge are asked "why cant we spend our wages on imports or even online poker?", well international security might work or we don't want the Billion Dollar PingPong Poker funds off shore on shore and some left between...

Would you accept any excuse from the government to tell you how to spend your money... ? its difficult question to answer... i mean if our billions of dollars of gambling money was used to finance a radical terrorist group lol then yeh lets do some thing about it maybe bomb them but don't take our freedom to play with whom ever we think we can profit from.

Country hacking country and rigged elections a big who-ha about money laundering and online gambling... honestly who's fooling who... keep your eye on the prize... the governments in every country are!!

Restricting internet market place with online gaming is about controlling how you spend your hard earned cash... forcing you to pay more and get less...trump and people like him will have a hand in or ownership of legal entities which will cash in on the availability of online gambling, they chop it up dice it out and take a service charge on top of a online gambling tax as a government approved gaming syndicate...

but they'll tell you... the American Dollar is being devalued while you send it abroad in gambling...

A new arm of the government has been set up to deal with it as a national security issue lol Russia, China and North Korea are conspiring to hit USA via the poker tables and online gambling entities lol

Well that's just my conspiracy theory so if i'm dead in the next 9 months you know they got to me ok? and online Gambling is VERY BIG BUSINESS.

Stop when the fun stops or if find your self in Guantanamo bay where Muslims don't gamble...:eek::eek:

I'm not sure how the rest of the games are there, nor if the other bets compensate more than the poker, more and fact that the game is bound to success if they do not have external facts, poker has everything to explode.

I believe a lot of people are exhausted from playing poker after all of these years and the average person would rather place a bet a casino or on a sports game that requires no work at all and can still give them a chance at feeling apart of something and winning.

The State of Poker

The main problem since the Obama DOJ did Black Friday will always be the size of player pools. The only site in NJ that has full 9 player rooms running most of the time is 888/WSOP. They share their pools with Nevada and Delaware. Other games because of some odd NJ rules gets to be annoying. They log you out after 5 minutes. You join a sit and go or tournament. You have to keep logging back in.

I figure the more states have online betting the better for poker. If you can bet on sports, casino games and horses why not poker ? Online horse race betting is legal in 38 states.

No and it shouldn't grow in New Jersey or in any single state. When it just was legalized Jason Somerville was a big promoter and went to New Jersey to play. He had fun, but he was massacred on his bankroll at the poker tables. Who was playing on poker stars NJ? Only serious players, why would a casual person even know about online poker being now legal in the state and going through the process to verify and get set up. How fun is poker when the games are tough for new players? The average player who gave it a run got buried, probably didn't realize how far behind they fell in skill level when not playing online for several years. The only way poker will grow anywhere is if the games are good, rake, promotions are almost irrelevant if the games are brutally tough.

The status of online poker in the year remains in anticipation of better times. The game on the Internet is allowed only in several states. Although live poker is still a favorite for hundreds of thousands of Americans.

There is, if the authorities make concessions at the legislative level. In General, I would ban all gambling except poker and blackjack!!!!
