Less than two weeks ago, Los Angeles poker rooms were re-opened but due to the resurgence of Covid-19, they are now in jeopardy of closing for a second time. This also applies to Las Vegas poker rooms!

Does this surprise anyone?

Are Poker Rooms Headed for a Second Coronavirus Shutdown?

There is no surprise here as we did not lower the amount of Covid in the community to a level low enough where new infections would not cause a rapid expansion of the disease.

The R0 transmission rate was never low enough to warrant the type of opening that we did.
Followed by ineffective tracing and too slow, too lax, too badly misunderstood quarantine procedures.

We also did not educate the public well enough. A recent outbreak in a family where 18 members were infected was caused by one family member ignoring a cough and going to a surprise party.
Another family member stated “but we were at the party for only a couple of hours“. The viral load transmission time line without physical contact falls somewhere between 5-10 minutes. That is the non-sneeze, non-cough just breathing, Covid timeline.

Also when we get together with others we cannot say but I only spent time with 6 people. We have to understand our risk factor is multiplied by how many people those 6 people exposed themselves to over a potential 14 Day period . If they were with 6 other people then we are actually exposing ourselves to 36 possible covid invected people as well as however many those 36 exposed themselves to.

Be vigilante be safe.
