Kobe Bryant was invited by the WSOP to participate in this years Main Event in tribute to Dr. Jerry Buss. DR. Buss, who recently passed away, was an avid poker player and played in several Main Events. Kobe had to decline because of doctors ordersdue to his achilles injury.
Whats your thought?
Would you have liked to seen the mamba Vs the sharks?

Of course, Kobe is such hero that he would study a few poker vids and know what to do under pressure/situations right away.

Any type of publicity that poker can get is pretty much a good thing, especially if it involves famous athletes thinking that poker is cool.

Exactly, well said.

Kobe doesn't like golf, poker. What does he do in his spare time?

Anybody remember the Celebrity Poker Show on cable? They had some good matches and some of them were very good players.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that show. Loved Phil Gordon's commentary.

It's quite funny to see favorite athletes play poker. I remember a bunch of NASCAR drivers one year did a televised poker event for charity and mine got knocked out first... :( was great for a laugh tho.

Paul Pierce made Day 2 of the $10k Pot Limit Omaha event with 143k, nearly a top 10 stack. I would be very jealous if he ended up shipping a bracelet. Something about it seems unfair haha, you should only get large amount of talents in one area.

Yeah, I am impressed that Pierce entered a PLO event, and a $10k buyin one at that, and made it so deep.
