Most of us have at least heard of Isaac Haxton but did you know with all his accomplishments he had not won a wsop bracelet...until now? Ike managed to finally win a WSOP event by outlasting 300 players in Event #16 $25K High Roller No-Limit Holdem 8-Handed for a cool $1,698,215.

Isaac Haxton Continues Red-Hot Year with First World Series of Poker Bracelet

Hi @Shells

I watched the final table for this on YouTube.

Ike came in as chip leader sat back and relaxed watched Darren ellias do all the work.

Got to work when it was 3 handed regained his chip lead and never looked back.

Commentators said he's won almost 8 million in 2023 already WTF

That's some heater

For me, the best result so far in the WSOP 2023.

When I first became interested in poker, there were a few guys that pulled me into the game, and for what it is worth they weren't the 'characters' that got a lot of attention

Isaac Haxton was one as he always struck as cerebral and composed, unfailingly pleasant at the tables. Congrats to Isaac!

Edit -

Though the article cites Haxton winning $37.5 million for his career, a million a year over his life...I think it's a little more impressive to point out that since he began playing (Turning Stone Casino, NY as an 18 year old) he's made $2 million a year. Oof!

Why is he wearing a mask? Anyway, 3M company got good exposure to promote their brand for free.

He's on a crazy run this year. I heard about him somewhere in 2018 or 2019, but never payed him much attention till this year.
Congrats to him on the bracelet, surely not the last one he's getting!

Must be still weary of Covid maybe choose to not be vaccinated.

Also maybe thinks it's lucky and I suppose it helps him give off less tells.

Isaac Haxton has been wearing a mask through and after Covid 19.

Naturally, I can't speak for Haxton personally but the answer for millions around the world would be as Covid 19 is still rumbling across the globe and still taking casualties, so many still wear masks.

US deaths now stand at 1.166,663, and yesterday Covid 19 tracking reports hundreds were diagnosed with Covid 19 in france but actually several thousand in South Korea for example. Around Asia though most countries are not mandating wearing masks governments are still recommending doing so when using public transport and meeting in numbers. The latest variants are not as lethal and treatments have improved but many want to avoid infection and the possibility of 'long Covid'.

Additionally for what it's worth, many also learnt a lesson regarding protection from regular pollution (most cities have a poor level of air quality due to traffic) and regular flu seasons. When people wore mask in the pandemic, the spread of flu was almost completely arrested.

So as large poker tournaments are notorious for spreading germs (before Covid 19 even appeared) I assume Haxton wears a mask because it makes sense.

I dont want to use a mask anymore , though it probably would be a prudent choice .
