Since Fulltilt closed, online poker, especially MTTs have changed, larger starting stacks being the norm. When it opened, I immediately played an old favourite tournament of mine but it was 1500 starting, can't remember when I last played one with so few chips.

Think they need to revamp a lot of their tournaments.

Software still feels great though.

Rakeback needs to be an option for a player who cannot or will not grind to SNova status...especially for smaller stakes games to flourish....and MOST ESPECIALLY for games like Razz, SHL, LHE to grow or even maintain popularity to the point of liquidity.

Without RB playing limit games on Merge for example is almost impossible to beat in the long run.

Some major site will come in and spend a tonne on marketing/pros and offer a straight 30-35% RB when the US returns...I just hope I can get 50% RB from some affiliates ive worked with.

A couple things stick out to me about this:

1) As PO and others have said, the numbers at re-launch were always going to be staggering given the promotions and people with bankrolls on the site. The big grinders probably blew through their bonuses pretty quickly, and having done so are probably back at Stars with their better rakeback deals.

2) The current player pool at FTP is largely skewed towards regs at the moment. After the initial open the players started to realize it was probably +ev to play elsewhere and wait for the player pool to normalize a bit before coming back to FTP.

3) It will take some time for new blood to register at Full Tilt, but given that I still prefer the FTP software (highly) even after a year of playing at other sites means that they still have a lot going for them and that with the right marketing in place they are probably going to be doing very well in the coming months. That a site could take a year of absence, with a sordid history, and still be the #2 (or #3) site immediately upon relaunch is really not something that I'd be worried about.

It is going to take the player pool a very long time to normalize if they keep affiliates locked out - that is where a lot of the fish come from. Huge mistake on their part.

Yea verily... :p

I did the same thing but playing play chips isn't enjoyable at all to me. I truly miss FTP and am keeping hope that they will be back in America in the near future.

I cannot believe people still play on Full Tilt after everything that happened there.

I'm actually surprised that this is happening. Since Full Tilt is under new management what's the big deal? Their software is still great and if I only had a chance to put my money on the site I would do so in an instant. Whatever happened to FT pre black friday should be separated from the current FT site. This is really pokerstars with FT software. What's the issue?

With it being owned by PokerStars now, people know that their money is safe.

Edit: ya, what he said ^

Not really surprising. I can see a lot of people going to FT just to play with their balances (most likely plying while underrolled because their FT balance will be seen as a 'bonus'), then not redepositing when they go busto.

I think alot of bad players who got access to their long lost funds decided eh what the hay..I'll play a while to see if they could run it up. Then they went busto and those players have long since moved to other sites & don't want to redeposit because of what happened (even though stars owns them now).

I did that..lol! I'm not going to deposit again on FT since they don't offer any good promotion to reload. I only like the 25FTP tournament, the rest it's very bad.

I couldn't agree more. If I had the chance I would definitely be playing at FT again.

Well like a few people said above, the absence of rakeback is a big difference. So while the software is still great (and I agree with you, it is great) the incentives to play have been greatly reduced vs the old Full Tilt.
