The argument could be made that if the DOJ didn't grab all the $ from the payment processors, that FTP wouldn't have been in the trouble it was in and would have had enough funds (or at least more funds) to cover players accounts. FTP was letting players play with funds they never collected.

I'm not justifying or apologizing for the gross mis-management of FTP or saying that not having players funds segregrated is forgiveable, but I'm not giving the DOJ a pass either.
DOJ just sped up the downfall imo. Don't get me wrong I think they're scum sucking asshats for shutting it down for US players but they're not the reason why RoW players don't have their $$s right now.

I'll believe it when I get my re-invite email showing my unchanged dollar balance. I've come to trust no one in this business. Way too many grey areas that are difficult if not impossible to regulate and monitor. If and when the US gov. steps in, there may be some sense of regualtion amongst players. But think of it, we'd not only have to worry about cheating cardroom practices, we would be at the mercy of our own Gov. who would have unchecked authority. Scary.

I'm only a rec/fun player, but I had built a BR of $267+
on FT from zero.
I have to say that FT was the best online poker experience by far.
Their software was miles ahead of any other site I have played on since BF , especially when you include the FT Academy for learning the game.
I hope it re-opens soon , I will be back there in an instant.

AGCC Announce Hearing for Full Tilt Poker Licence Application

http://www.pokernewsreport.com/agcc-announce-hearing-for-full-tilt-poker-licence-application-8383
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has revealed details of a public hearing that will be held early next month into the application made by Full Tilt Poker company Orinic Limited for a new licence.

The Full Tilt subsidiary applied for the licence recently and now the AGCC have responded by setting up a hearing that will allow for oral submissions at the Braye Beach Hotel in Alderney on Thursday, May 3, at 14:00 local time.

While this might not seem too significant in itself, this licence application could well herald Full Tilt’s return to the online poker scene, particularly following so soon after the recent reports that the Dublin-based Pocket Kings Limited – the marketing and technology division of the beleaguered poker room – had placed adverts for jobs on Irish employment website jobs.ie.

As everyone must know by now, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) shut down numerous poker sites – including Absolute Poker, PokerStars and Full Tilt – when money laundering allegations, bank fraud and illegal gambling came to light on Black Friday – or April 15 – last year.

Orinic Limited Licence Was Only Suspended

Orinic was, of course, caught up in the troubles surrounding Full Tilt and had their licence suspended – but not revoked as they were not trading at that point – by the AGCC at the same time as the commission withdrew Full Tilt’s licences last year.

Could this be good news for Full Tilt’s frustrated customers? Let’s hope so as it is believed that as much as $440 million is still owed to them. Certainly, it does appear to be a step in the right direction, particularly when Groupe Bernard Tapie (GBT) seem to be so close to completing the deal with the DoJ.

The full public hearing announcement from the AGCC stated: “In the matter of an application by Orinic Limited for a Category 2 eGambling licence, TAKE NOTICE that the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, pursuant to Section 4 of the Alderney eGambling Ordinance, 2009 and Regulation 23 of the Alderney eGambling Regulations, 2009, will hold a public hearing at which oral representations may be made.

“This hearing will take place at 2.00pm on Thursday 3rd May, 2012 at the Braye Beach Hotel, Alderney.”

It seems to be getting better everyday :)

They could be bots. In fact i am sure they are not players. But the screenshot of the site is not the thing that gives me hope. The fact that for the first time after almost a year the poker server responded witch means there is someone there working on something. Hope will here more good news untill May.

The 411 player screenshot is part of testing the site -- There are no players playing right now as the site and software are not up.

There is talk that there will be no more RB at all if/when they reopen. The rumor is that they'll offer lossback (giving losing players a % of their losses back each month). The only thing they'll have for the winning players is losing players with more money.

If true or not who knows but that's the speculation anyway. Was your RB provider rbpros???

bleeeech if true. But I can't really see them completely turning their backs on all the grinders -- perhaps a restructured black card / VIP system that at least is somewhat competitive with pokerstars. Any rumors floating about what will happen with accrued FTPs (points)?

Ugh, it still burns me how they went offline last June, literally just a few days before summer ironman bonus kicked in. I had it all set up and timed with other promos such that I would have around 70% rakeback for three months.

I guess if/when they reopen we can at least look forward to some decent "welcome back" promos.

Even if they come back, they won't allow US players and I wouldn't play there again anyways. I just want my money.

I agree with the masses here. Show me the money first, then we will see about playing there again. Being from the US though I don't expect to be playing at tilt anytime soon if ever....

Always amazing how many folks just can't wait to be at the head of the Ponzi Line Dance ...

I'm pretty sure most people (myself included) are more excited by the prospect of being able to withdraw our money and then never playing there again. :p

Being US, and a year later, and I don't really remember what my balance was, and my PC has crashed since BF, and I have already written that money off mentally.

All that suggests it will take a real honest to GOD Miracle for me to ever play there again.

Then add in a whole new level of bureaucracy from the DoJ and probably IRS, and they will probably want to tax me more than my balance was just to cover their costs.

Yeah, pipe dreams are fun......:(
