In the next five years, Daniel Coleman will take first place, he is very powerful now.

I don't think coleman really likes poker that much . but its hard to quit when you play ( and run ) as well as he does .

Do these lists include all time Tournament $$$$ as they are abit pointless when you include the $100K and $1million Buyins. I thought there was a money list that didnt include 50K buyins +

Effectively a guy could win $30 million playing the big buyins but spend $40 Million, hardly a reflection of true ability, just that he has more $$$ than sense
i agree that the list does not reflect true earnings and it is mostly based on one drop cashes

You've got to love Daniel Negreanu. He actually lost his first BR and then came back and look at him now, to see him reading other people's play is something I don't believe you could learn. I wondered why he wasn't in Hall of Fame before now, but, found out the other day you have to be 40 to get in to it. His play described in one quote "A K - that's not a hand".

I highly doubt it. He's only where his is because of his massive 1 drop win. You take that away and he's not cracked the top 15. That's not to say he's not a good player, because he is, but I don't think he will take it over in the next 5 years.

Negreanu is still playing very well, and making some really good money. If Ivey ever gets serious about tournaments again who knows where he will end up. Both of these guys got where they are without a $15mil+ win under there belts.

Yeah, there's a different list for that: http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/ranking/5/

And it looks very different. For example, Antonio Esfandiari drops from 2nd place to 81st because $18.3 million of his total is the $1m buying Big One for One Drop (and it's public knowledge that he was pieced out in that event, so he didn't get to keep anywhere near that much, even before tax).

Here's the top 10 for open events with buyins over $50K excluded. You'll notice it's still distorted to some extent by single large wins from the WSOP Main Event (Gold, Jacobson, Duhamel).

1st Canada Daniel Negreanu $ 17,876,202
2nd United States Phil Hellmuth Jr $ 14,627,205
3rd United States Michael Mizrachi $ 14,310,512
4th Sweden Martin Jacobson $ 13,924,829
5th United States Phil Ivey $ 13,697,204
6th Indonesia John Juanda $ 13,481,632
7th United States Jamie Gold $ 12,421,188
8th United States Erik Seidel $ 12,210,305
9th Canada Jonathan Duhamel $ 12,149,054
10th United States Scotty Nguyen $ 11,639,918

Lol - has Gold never won another tournament?

Its interesting that Tom dwan isn't able to get in to 20.

Tom Dwan is a cash game player primarily. This list represents tournament winnings.

That said, Erik Seidel sure does fly under the radar, even on here. People are quick to point out Daniel, Ivey, Antonio, Daniel Colman, and rightly so. But it's hard to argue with Erik's success, given his age and how he continues to win even today against the young guns. He has been able to adjust over time and that's what keeps him relevant as a tournament player.

To me, without a doubt, the most underrated/under appreciated poker player of all time. If you ask him, I'm sure that he doesn't really care if he's famous or not.

It's not reflect the reality, because the one drop too big prize. I think that to know what the real best player in the world we should compare the %age of ICM in tournaments

That's a solid list full of phenomenal players. I don't think it'll be too long before Fedor Holz starts to climb the list and I have very little doubt that he will eventually crack the top 10.
