I've never heard of anything like this with Bovoda. I did figure that there'd be problems here and there with these things and am very sad that you had to experience it. I'm just glad that they have great customer service and really take the time to evaluate a situation and correct it when these things occur.
Or they tell you its your problem not theirs...

Posting bank names is a bad idea ! Stop using the big criminal wall street banks ! Use a local bank or a credit union !

I agree, posting bank names is probably a bad idea. Don't wanna give them any more incentive to decline checks.

I tried to deposit using an atm using a national bank and was declined, but went to the teller and it went through issue free. If they give you any cap just say it's an online business.

I had the same problem, the bank told me the check was drawn on a fraudulent account. :confused:

I use a local bank

Amazing lol such bs! Lol isn't because it's funny, but because
I know how stressful this situation is and for ur sake I hope bovada helps you figure it out, but try not to let it rattle u in ur everyday life it sucks... Just remember when we signed up for online poker we were taking a risk that it would go according to plan, unfortunately like any risk it can always go wrong very quickly :eek:

Looks like Bovada poker won't make good on my bad check, lesson learned. What is crazy about it I've been playing on this site for years had several cash outs with the same method (had check cut) with no problems. So I suggest to all to beware you may not get paid!

I have a warning to all players on Bovada Poker they are sending bogus checks as cash outs to players. That is a fact! I know it is risk to player on line poker if we are from the US, but why send bogus checks with the potential of arrest and losing your bank account! That doesn't make sense! So watch out all it will happen to you!

Customer service will Bovada poker not help with situation

Are there any good sites out there?

What is up with this Bovada fiasco. You guys starting make me worry too. I dont have much invested in the site but what I do have I would like to someday retrieve. I have only been playing for online for about 3 months now but what Im reading about between Bovada, Carbon, and etc., worries me. Thanks to everyone for opening my eyes. I think I will keep my bankrolls to a minimum.

This is for all the people who tell you should trust bovada and their customer service goes out of the way to solve all issues... My email to them:
I also contacted our Fraud area on your behalf and was
informed that the account was restricted as a result of a
check that was deposited in the amount of $3,000.20. The
issuance of this check could not be verified by the maker
of the check.

You will need to call 1-877-691-8086 during normal
business hours with a direct number for Jupom Marketing so
that our Fraud area can call to verify the check.
Response I get from them:

Dear Mr.
Account:

This is with regards to the check with Reference Number 369624303 for $3,000 that was being held by your bank.

We've tried contacting our provider to see if we can assist with the release of the funds, however; there is nothing further we can provide. Consult with your financial institution in order to resolve this.

Thats very sad! I have closed my account with bovada and I suggest that to others don't play there! Unless you want to give away your money because considered a Rogue site for all players!!!!!

Geez. what a nightmare.. I love bovada and I always commend their customer service and I find it hard to imagine what you're going through. I'm curious though, did your bank cash bovada checks prior to this incident? I had deposited at tcf through my girlfriends bank account with a Thailand check( the only one I ever received with Thailand info). They cashed it no problem. Then I tried cashing a Canadian check and they had me sign it over to my gf and said they could cash it no problem. Only to have the manager come back and say that they couldn't actually cash it because the routing numbers weren't Canadian routing numbers and they thought that the check was fraudulent. I had to badger them for a few minutes to get them to explain what it was about the check that they didn't' want to cash it.. They didn't keep the check though and I just took it to a different bank and they cashed it no problem but on the initial receipt I got when I deposited(before the money hit the account) said that they suspected the check was a fraud and would not be cashed. I've cashed several more there since and they always go through.

I'm going to say no. I base my answer on the fact that I a huge problem at blovada a couple of years ago. I was one of the first few people to experience any issues I think, because everyone called me crazy. The bottom line is, I had payout in limbo due to VERY similar circumstances for 19 months. I eventually had to resort to threats and they gave me a one time money order payout. It was pathetic on their part at best. After a very long time customer suddenly doesn't cash his latest payout for a year or so and emails them 100 gazillion times and called 15 googolplex times, wouldn't a decent business say, "Hey, this guy probably actually wants his $500 bucks and would have cashed the check by now if at all possible. Why would he keep bothering us and not cash his check for months on end? Let's snail mail this poor sap a visa gift card and give him a bonus on his account."

So I really don't know, what would they believe my motive was other than getting my money? Did they think I was lying? To what end? Do they have a personal vendetta against me? Are they lying crooks? You decide. Read this thread first though.

Ya kind of been a yearlong tilt dealing with the fact that I never got my 3 grand.. Still have to go down 2 chase and get my own money back!
