I am going dealing with this as we speak. I spoke to betonline costumer service and they said that before I attempt any kind of withdraw i have to " verify identity " with them which means i have to email or fax the following: back and front of my credit card, my driver licence and a utility bill ! I mean cmon, thats crazy isnt it? who is to say they wont steal my idetity or charge my card? im scared to even try, but i have over $ 400 in winnings and i would hate to just lose the money.
I am new to poker/casino online sites, so this may be normal? any advice would be greatly apreciated!

This is standard for all reputable sites. You should be thankful, it's how they cut down on fraud.

Anytime you engage a company in establishing and maintaining a financial account, you have to provide this type of information. When you eat out, you hand your CC to the wait staff who walk away with it. It's not at all unreasonable to expect poker sites that handle millions/billions of dollars for their players to demand identity verification, especially since it's a virtual environment and not a face-to-face transaction.

As long as the request is reasonable within the context of the business transaction at hand, you have to trust that it will be handled professionally. Yes a few bad apples take advantage of that trust, but the vast majority do not. Most don't stop using CCs at restaurants even though the occasionally waiter copies down the card number. We don't stop using banks just because some bad tellers have access to your SSN and all your account info. If you want to do business in the current environment, it's something you have to accept.

I agree in full with the last post... I have yet to see a poker site that requires no verification whatsoever. Just always do your research on the poker site and BetOnline is a reputable company. I personally have verified my account and have had no problems with withdrawing money... Usually a check comes withing 10 days of request... none of them have bounced... Just remember if you do not want to pay the outrageous fee's on withdrawal to email them on a Friday and mention "One Monthly Free Withdrawal" to avoid the fees... I have posted all of this info early on this same subject. GL on the felt!

Bet Online also gives payout by check by mail.
But you have to take out a minimum of $500

I put in a $100 just to try it. The site is so clunky, I just wanted to leave, but they declared I can't withdraw unless its at least $500. Honestly, the worst site in every way possible.

Thanks to all who answered my question. Honestly i didnt know it was a standard procedure, now i feel better :)
The minimum for withdraw is not $500, its 100 plus whqatever they charge for moneygram or western union.

So are they worth playing on? I haven't heard many good things about this site, but there really isn't much to choose from. I don't mind verifying my account at all. But don't want to have to go through a bunch of drama for a site that's not very good to begin with.

Hi everyone. I literally joined this forum after reading this thread. I had to weigh in on this conversation.

I have been playing poker on BetOnline for a while now, about 4 months or so. I used a visa card to deposit $100 (no problems, took just a few minutes) I Multi-table low limit cash games as a hobby/part time job. So i put in a considerable amount of time on the site and am very fimilar with the workings of the poker side of this company. I wanted to address two main points of the conversation, the withdraw of money from the site, and the apparent crazy hand where quads lost to nothing.

When it comes to money management on any gambling site, you need to be aware of the details that come along with deposits/withdraw options...but especially BONUS DEALS. When you take a closer look at these "deals" you see that they grab you by the balls, and only high rollers can easily escape the requirements. So with this and any other gambling site, its best to usually ignore the deals even though they are tempting. There was a charged fee for depositing with a Visa, something like $7 with my deposit (not the end of the world when your here to make money, if $7 is to much for you i have no idea why your playing poker in the first place) As for actual withdraws, I have had 3 experiences. All three have come from free checks mailed to me, all three cleared with no issues. The amount for checks does have to be over $500, but there are much lower options available...but for a fee. It did take a few weeks, the longest being upwards of 3 weeks. But as I said its just side cash for me, so i dont mind waiting so as to not pay a huge fee.

The crazy hand you spoke about, my first instinct is you misread the outcome. But obviously I wasnt there. I have played thousands of hands on their software and have had no such issues. I dont play their MTTs just yet, the number of players is still to low to warrent hours of my life for a med level payout. But I see no flaws in the software. If you are expecting FullTilt quality you will be slightly dissapointed, but looking at the big picture us US players can play on solid software, against weak players, and recieve payouts if your willing to wait.

On a saide note: if you have accepted the bonus and have not yet used the bonus money. You can have them remove the funds, and the rollover penatly will not be in effect. Just call CS. The guy i talked to was a little rough around the edges but got the job done...thats all I want anyway from CS, not a new friend.

I know this is an old topic here. But it might be time for people to revisit BetOnline for poker. If you expect to play poker somewhere and have no withdraw fees at this point your just dreaming.

Wow I have been playing the freerolls on betonline for a while now. These fees are very discouraging. Thanks for sharing.

I'd argue there are just much better options, and not all of them charge fees.

For instance my primary site, Lock Poker, both before when on Merge and now since buying the Cake network and moving there, offers no-fee withdrawals by way of reimbursing your first withdrawal fee each month. So withdraw no more than once a month, and you pay no net fees. This applies to both checks and WU withdrawals. As to minimums, I've never withdrawn less than $1000 but I'm pretty sure I've read people withdrawing $200 and such, so think it's less than $500. Some Merge skins were also providing one free withdrawal last I checked, but I haven't withdrawn from Merge since Lock was there, so can't swear they still do it.

yeah i play on betonline sitngoes all the time and honestly the only problem with the software is it will occasionally glitch and close (this happens 1 out of every 40 times i play) so it isnt a huge deal although it could potentially be if you are in the middle of a big hand and you have to re launch the application and it auto folds. I have yet to withdraw but i anticipate i will in a few months, i have heard the checks come relatively fast compared to other US-serving sites so hopefully that proves to be true.

I PLAY BETONLINE ALSO,AND AM CURIOUS ABOUT A GLITCH TOO,sorry for the CAPSLOCK lol, ok so im playing a tourney i get decent cards, at the flop i get two pairs,or top pair so im thinking ive got a winning hand,so i bet half pot 3/4 pot, then another player reraises me,and as im about to shove all in my connection gets lost,by the time i get back in the game i see that i would have lost, either to a better hand or on the river, what im trying to say is that there has been atleast 5 times that this exact ''GLITCH'' has hapened to me,for me from now on if i ever receive this ''warning'' signs again ill just fold even if i have quads,im sure a royal flush wil find a way to come up

Any Updates

Has anyone been able to withdraw freeroll winnings?
After reading through the BetOnline website I found that
it stated you must make a minimum deposit and then roll it over
and bet on sports before you can withdraw any freeroll winnings.

Would be very interesting to hear others experiences..I have built a small bankroll on BetOnline after winning a freeroll, and then playing in cash games...And I am wondering if it will ever be possible to withdraw winnings if I win a large sum.

I have read quite a few discouraging stories on here about players trying to withdraw deposited money from BetOnline...I hope I do not have that experience, because I like playing on BetOnline.

Any updates on your attempts to withdraw?
I am currently playing on Betonline, and as I understand it, the minimum deposit is only $50. So, if you have a substantial amount to withdraw, it would make sense just to make the minimum deposit, play it out, and withdraw your winnings.
