All poker platforms require account authentication. OK!
They also require a minimum deposit so you can only withdraw after playing. OK!
But at GGPoker there is no minimum amount stipulated, that is, you will deposit and you will only withdraw when they decide that you have played enough, that is, you will never know when they will release your withdrawal even having authenticated the account, even having deposited and even having already played, they become owners of their money. So beware.
The same doesn't happen on America Cardroom, it doesn't happen on 888, on pokerstars, and on Netbet, on these sites you can withdraw your money without problems, the rules are very clear and the withdrawal is accurate. Stay tuned!

I don't play on GG but I've heard that there would be similar problems there. I would be interested to know if there are more people who have something to say about it. I had thought myself some time ago whether to go to GG but then I was more or less advised against it and such reports convince me that it was better not to play there.

GG is so scummy - don't know why it has gotten such a good reputation. Literally you can play on GGNetwork from Natural8 which is unregulated casino.

I tried to withdraw some funds from GGPoker, but they insist that the withdrawals be made in the same format the deposit was made.

I had used a prepaid credit card for the initial deposit, so putting money BACK on that, after nearly a year, is not going to happen.

Their solution is to deposit MORE money, using a method that can have the withdrawals accepted on it, and then ask for the complete withdrawal. Still not sure I am going to do that, just yet.

no, because you also have to recieve money back on the prepaid creditcard.

I had this some years ago on pokerstars and i sended an email that i do not have a creditcard anymore and they deleted this and i could withdraw to my bank.

Aren't you in Ontario? I would be cautious in extrapolating poker site behaviour across their different market versions.

it makes sense from a security standpoint, how do they know you didn't use someone elsess card to play illegally

Twice per week I'm getting emails that my account was accessed from another iP address at GGpoker, with Apple OS... I've changed password twice but still keep getting these emails...

No, I am not complaining about their methods, only the difficulties that one might encounter. At the time I made the deposits, my cc was not allowing those types of transactions, so it was the only route I could take. With Ontario now becoming more regulated around poker, I sense the cc companies are relaxing a bit about these transactions.

I get the security there, and I did not mean to imply that GG was doing anything improper, just that it was now a bit more complicated than I want it to be.

I honestly never ever had issue with depositing or withdrawing from GG Poker.
My withdraw was always in a matter or day/two in my account.
Did you follow up with them over email?
Did you ask our GG Rep about?

That is truly unfortunate because one feels that if you win a grand prize, well, you will simply never be able to collect it and worse still, you will never be able to claim anything because there will not be a legal entity that attends to those affected, even if it appears in its regulations that if they are governed by the law . I hope that the platforms that do respond affirmatively to withdrawals, always remain faithful to their users with and out of respect.

It does actually at least on ACR. They have a policy, that after depositing a certain amount of rake need to be generated, before the money can be withdrawn again. The reason given for this is, that the purpose of a deposit is to participate in the games, they offer. I cant say, I find this totally unfair. The purpose of a deposit should be to play and not just randomly move money around. So if you just want to try a new site out, then dont deposit more, than you need to actually do that. There is no reason to deposit 1.000$ and then only buy into tournaments for 100$ before asking to withdraw the funds again. That said such terms should of course be openly stated, and if that is not the case on GG Poker, there is certainly room for improvement.
