The wsop upcoming online events should be open to all states due to COVID-19 - Any way to get this one time a exemption ? :bandit:

Unfortunately there is no way around the laws. I'm curious to see how it all plays out in terms of turnout, results, and reputation of the events compared to the normal ones where everyone converges in Las Vegas to play.

Though I say that knowing there is ZERO chance I would play in any of the events even if I could play from the US.

In general wsop events should be open to all countries. But that is not how laws work out for online poker currently.

Technically people could take a trip to mexico and play from Mexico. Not sure if the border is open, though ( due to Covid)

I think the way to appeal to states is to highlight the amount of income tax they are missing out on.

Although there are some states that don't have an income tax.

I am from Scotland but think it is a disgrace that in this day and age people are not allowed to play poker online because they live in a certain country.
