1) play in an unlimited rebuy for $3.30 with 150 people playing it.
2) Play for $22 with no
For me, the biggest winning win was a 100,000-euro tournament from the unibet series 1 that I attended after winning a £ 100 ticket to a raffle. At the middle of the tournament I was first but afterwards lost on a big pair almost all the chips. If I knew to throw with two of maybe, maybe it was my best win.
Just late register last minute, take add-on for ~average stack, and play the rest of the MTT as a freezeout.
Likely a lot of players have busted, so you probably only have to get through ~100 left. Assuming ITM is 12.5%, ~18 players get paid compared to 6/50 getting ITM.
So, field side is doubled but you only pay $6.60 total vs $22 and have more 12 ITM spots at the cost of having to get through 44 more players.
If $22 is your total BR, this gives you 3 chances to do well. Also 50 * $22 = $1,100. 150 * $3.30 = $495, assume 100 rebuy and add-on, that's $660 + $495 = $1,155. So, the rebuy is giving a bigger prize pool at 1/3 the price (if you late register). Considering that there can be multiple rebuys from players, the prize pool can potentially be even larger.
I like the OSMB Strategy. Guarantee or not. For around ten bucks you are not that far from a cash. This gives two shots. The $22 Iíll assume will pay maybe six or 15%. Maybe I just have a short attention span but this seems like a good plan.
Right now Iím pondering a similar situation. But I believe itís a negative.
(Apparently it wonít load my screen shot. $10 nearing the end of late reg.)
Not a rebuy. The plus is around 50 left out of 166 buys. The minus is average is 3.5 x buy-in. Leader is 12x Buy-in.
Blinds are 1100 or roughly 25% /round.
Thatís the thing. You will be ďall in or foldĒ from the outset. If you canít double in the first ten minutes youíre out. OTH, at least you didnít waste all that time .
Itís only fifty left and pays 36. 2/3 of the remaining players money. You will need to move up the ladder to do much but ...
I would prefer the 2nd option.
But my bankroll says NO !
Rebuy MTTs are often a bit too crazy for me in the early stages. Too many players just trying to get lucky and double up...
On the other hand they pay you when you are dealt a monster early on and give you the fast start they were looking for.
There is a lot of difference between the value of one entry and another in what you propose, but really, I in particular do not like tournaments with re-entries, I prefer a tournament where the loser leaves, I think that is how they think more and better about their movements.
