I am an intermediate player who has experience playing online, live tournaments and live 1/2 1/3.
1/3 just seems like it takes forever to chunk away at the table and make good profit. What are your thoughts?
Poker is a game of probability, which means that winning or losing is determined by the concept of expected value (EV).Many good players break even in poker because they don't do the math they need to do away from the tables. To win, you have to pick better lines than your opponents. You must clearly understand which action will bring the highest mathematical expectation. You must understand when to bet, raise, and what sizing to use. Professionals do this systematically and using logic. You must do the same if you want to win.
