Hey poker gang,

I've been wondering how some of you evaluate the villain online.

I was reflecting and studying my game play and realized that betting patterns can be a good tip and avoid some surprises. It goes along with hand reading studies and of course having player stats in a HUD helps a lot.

I've read and heard about it but feels like I just sunk in hehe...

WBU?

I use a two number system. I can’t remember where I got this from.

1st is how many hands do they play. I use a 1-10 scale
2nd is how aggressive they are.
1/1 is very tight/very passive.
5/5 is average.
9/9 is very loose/very aggressive.
1/9 would be someone that only plays AA and always pushes all in with them.

It’s a simple system. Rate your loose players first. You’ll play more hands with them so you’ll need the info quicker. Next rate the tightest players since they will have a better win rate against you. Average players are rated last.

Level 1 poker thinking, villain's hand?

Good morning everyone, reading the villains is a matter of course and practice must be done on every hand and that one time or another won't work, but it's a very correct thought. I've been playing poker since late 2018, and lately I'm getting results after I started to play thinking about the villain's hand and forgetting mine, thinking about which hands the villain makes this size bet on this flop, turn or river and I started to have good results mainly in cash and of course HUD helps a lot and also the villains notes are also important. It's very important that you play your hands according to the value they have, poker doesn't have a magic recipe that will always work, the most correct and keep in mind that you will find villains that make big value bets and bluff bets and try to play their hands always thinking hand for hand. I don't know if my opinion is clear, but this is poker a very complex game and I love to play.

I rarely come across opponents who, by betting, can show the strength of their hand.

To be able to say about someone that villian, I also take into account my lifting habits and the dynamics of the game.

Sorry guys, didn't quite grasp the meaning of your writings.

I believe it might be language barrier on my side.

I appreciate time and effort taken by y'all.

Have a great one.

I mean, there is not always a 100% chance of determining the strength of the hand by the opponent's bet.

Oh... Okay.

Definitely, but it's also something to take into account.
Even better when it goes to showdown.
And of course each player will have different betting strategies and patterns.

Don't you think?

In this I completely agree with you, as well as in the fact that you need to be able to choose rates. I say this the way everyone decides the size of the bet for himself. Some say that you need to get to the showdown, others, on the contrary, against. How many people have so many opinions. Therefore, I believe that it is necessary to determine the size of the bet based on observations of the actions of opponents.
