The main problem is that poker is treated as some sort of illegal activity instead of a card game, sports betting, horse racing, casinos are all legal but bring cards into the picture and suddenly it's illegal???, as for players being good online or live I don't see that as being important at all, is a good cash game player less than a good tourney player, poker is poker!

It's about lack of knowledge and proper education. Young ones don't know, then get to politics and share opinions according to their knowledge, or the lack of. Same goes for most of ifluencers. And there goes formulated mainstream point of view.
