Can you make $1000 playing poker in your local poker room?

I would say yes/no, it depends on how you play because live poker can be boring; you don't get as much hands as online poker. On the up side, most live players are gamblers, some are tight. But it is much easier than online in my opinion for cashing out $1000 per night.

The nearest is in Montreal and I hope to be able to play there one day
For sure it will be possible to make 1000 $ but probably not in 1 trip.

If I had the BR for 200nl and the time to play, then yes.

When I was in my mid 20's, before I had a ton of responsibilities, bills/debt, and a relationship, I was able to make over $10K in profit, playing 200nl semi-regularly (3-4/week) in under a year.
