I don't use my phone during the game, but a lot too. Sometimes it can get tense like it did in a tourney about a year ago. A player was told numerous times to not be using his phone, and I guess that he figured sooner or later they would actually do something about it so he stopped. Then he decided to use the empty chair next to him as a foot stool. He was told not to do that, but kept his feet where they were. I was sort of hoping to see a replay of that scene in Casino, but he finally relented and put his feet on the floor.

I used to play at some cash tables on few casinos ,where if a player announces floor manager that you are abusing phone, you get 1 warning, then at second you have to cash out and leave the table .

Wouldn't that have been 'fun'?

It depends on the rules of the tournament or venue but using of phones during poker matches is discouraged as it can be seen as distraction or rude.

sure u can use your phone we live in a free world
Right on, we’ll let’s imagine it’s not just one person the dealer and the floor manager is asking for the player to not use their phone (during a hand), but every player at every hand lol…

I understand if you are quick and know when to not use your phone, but I rarely see that and it’s a constant annoyance.

If you’re there to play poker and play cards, there should be a tutorial or something you watch before to learn the proper way of using your cell phone and how not to disrupt the game and other players where the dealer and the floor manager has to constantly remind people to get off their phones “during a hand”

To be honest I dont know if you can or cant overall use your phone at the tables. I usually use my to listen to music when I play and maybe put down a hand to review later on when I do use it. The thing is, depending on the Casino I have been in I have been told its not allowed in one of them even to listen to music. Most may not care over all but I think it would depend on where you are playing. Overall, I think what Debi said it for most places. Its OK to use when your not in a hand.

I don't think it will happen any time soon on the poker tables but MGM has started banning vloggers from recording at the tables.

Now other casino tables are a different matter. On a blackjack table phones are strictly forbidden - you can't even check the time on them so I am so happy I finally got an Apple watch lol.
Never thought about this, thanks for sharing :)

You can offer him to call back at another time convenient for him or for you and agree on a convenient time for communication. During the day we make a huge number of calls and not always pleasant ones, which no doubt affects us. The emotional state should not be reflected in the next telephone conversation. Take a break and call.On an online forum, a woman shared a story about going to work at the same time on the same bus. Her companion is always a girl who starts talking on the phone as soon as she takes a free seat. The road takes about half an hour. The forum participant says that she is aware of all the relations of this girl with her boyfriend, mother, colleagues and neighbors.

I guess I am sort of a hypocrite in saying nobody should use a phone, here I am trying to record hands to review, lol naturally, you should only use your phone to record hands in a place that is friendly to blogs/streams etc, which I get. So, use your phone wisely at the table folks:)

The clubs around here advertise no phone use at the table during trnys but it's kinda lack because most players are on their phones. If you ask the floor personnel, they tell you that you can use it as long as you're a "players length" from the table. Oookaaay

It is distracting, so I can get it...it is also not distracting when used at the right time during an orbit etc, and also get that. Who knows what the actual right answer is overall! lol

Also, using the phone can mean a whole lot of things from talking on it, to just checking an email, sending a msg... to playing an entire game lol.

It is pretty ridiculous to have someone have a conversation on the phone at the table (at any portion of the game) so I think most can agree on that. Checking email, or whatever that isn't disruptive (if you have folded) needs its own set of rules I guess?

I love it - but it is not for everyone. I use it primarily as a watch because the display is amazing and easy to read. You can set it up to show whatever you want to see at a glance but I haven't had time to set mine up perfectly. I can also see the temperature and the date - but I want to add my steps because I do like to watch that daily.

It also comes in handy when you get security codes sent to your phone which happens to me a lot. Messages pop up on your watch - so I can just glance down and get the code. It also shows incoming calls - so I can quickly disconnect spam calls without having to grab my phone, enter my security code and go to calls to disconnect it.
No wonder you don’t answer my calls.. hahaha. j/k
