Some time ago, in the years 1997, I came from work and watched family members playing online poker, pokerstars, and it attracted me so much that the next day I went and bought my first desktop computer and I started learning to play just for fun. ,, After 3 years I invested my first $ 20 dollars which I gambled within three days and they had finished me ,,, and so on after the years I continued investing similar amounts ,, the strange thing was that I had the two applications, fictitious and real, in fictitious it was an absolute winner and in real it was just one more at the zero profit table, and so on until today, until a year and a half ago I began to study it, concentrating on watch videos in you I had and now consumed in the programs that cardschat gives us, I am still on the road seeking to improve day by day ,,thanks to CC I stay in what I am passionate about, interacting with different friends from the community and reading positive articles regarding the game ,, threads of pure learning threads ,,, nothing happens, life goes on ,,, good luck friends, ,,

I was born after my mother went into labour during a poker game...I came out with the ace of spades in my hand...LOL...does that count because I got all that poker experience from inside my mother's womb?

Actually, really stared to play in university in the library way back in the early 70s...instead of going to class (maybe that's why my marks were so bad).

I was a semi professional backgammon player in the 80s and learned to play waiting for people to play backgammon with but it was only for very small stakes and was mostly about passing the time. Two years ago I started playing in a pub league near my home. I went in one day and some people were playing poker so I asked about joining in. I came second by only playing nitty super premium hands - and was lucky obviously. Have since started playing a bit online.

my first contact with poker was within windows games!

Yes, there was a windows version that had a poker card game!

I remember it was during the World Cup here in brazil, if I'm not mistaken in 2014.

I found it quite challenging, that's when I looked for online poker games and found the poker rooms, after that it's another long story.

GL :D

Poker such as stud, 5 card draw, 7 card and hi lo etc back in high school. Started playing NL later in life shortly after the Moneymaker craze. I read Helmuth's first book and tried some of the early online sites leading to PokerStars, Full Tilt and Ultimate Bet. Carbon Poker was always my favorite back over 10 years ago.

I believe I got hooked at my first online poker site called pokerroom.com. It was a long time ago, maybe 2004. I can't believe how many of my friends love playing poker. I thought I was weird for liking the game so much, but I always get a positive response from friends and family when I need to make time to get in one of my poker tourneys.

Hello

I started playing at 20 years old, and it was out of curiosity, it is a very entertaining game full of adrenaline, the good thing is that you can start at any age, there are no limits. :joyman:

Friends introduced me to the game of poker. We played at home. It was over 10 years ago. The game made an exciting impression on me. It was fun and exciting to play. Then I found out that there is an opportunity to play poker online and started playing on one of the most popular sites in PokerStars.

I played a lot of Poker games in my early years after leaving school at 17, mostly Stud and 5 Card Draw, but I also played many other card games like Don, Cribbage, Brag and blackjack, any time I found a game I would want to be involved and try my luck.
I knew nothing about playing Holdem until late in the 1990s and early 2000, when I watched Late night Poker on television, mostly played by English players like Dave Devilfish Ulliott, Barney Boatman, and a few other's from the Hendon Mob. but sometimes they had a few other players come along like Phil Helmut, Lex Velhuis, and I think Tony G appeared on a couple of games.
Then when I found you could play for Free on site's like Pokerstars, I got hooked. I played a lot of Play money games and the occasional Free-roll, I still remember my first cash in a Free-roll game and won something like 32 Cents, pitiful I know, but Mighty Oaks grow from tiny Acorns.
I didn't trust on-line games, because of computer crashes,Viruses, and possible Hackers so kept my on-line play to small stake games and Free-rolls, but when I started to win more and more I venture out into the live games in Local Pubs and Clubs, eventually these led the way to play in Casino's.
It is only since the Covid 19 outbreak that stopped playing live games, and returned to on-line site's again. I love playing Poker and some would say addicted to the game. I am! But at the same time I have not lost huge amounts of money and my winnings from live games have paid for a few holidays abroad, and other things in my life.
If I had any regrets, my biggest would be I didn't start playing Holdem earlier, It is a fascinating game with many twist's and turn's and I enjoy playing, Winning is not that important as you can make money coming 2nd and 3rd. It is nice to be number one at the end of a long game, but it is also possible to be a winner even when you only make the money, So I am happy to pass the bubble, elated when I make the final table, and ecstatic when I win.
I learned to be grateful for what I had won, and not worry about what I lost, and I can honestly say I enjoy playing whatever happens, it is all part of the fun.

When the fun Stops, STOP!
