The last time I played as a local in Las Vegas I lived in the South part of town in 2005. How are all the local tournaments?

Vegas is as hot or hotter than it's ever been. The WPT at the Wynn has had astonishing numbers and all the other series have been busting guarantees. For what's coming up take a look at PokerAtlas.com

I go to Vegas almost every week, I always stay at the same Hotel Casino, The Venetian, I play some tournaments, but the big problem is when I drop a chip on the floor, at that time I wake up.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Me too. One day sir we'll be there :D problem Just is it's on the other side of the planet for me.
So finding an affordable flight is hard...
Plus accomodation , food and gambling money.
I'm going to save up 20K and go there in my 50s 😅
Almost 2 decades should suffice to get the money. Hahaha

Seems like you have a goal, just calculate overall amount of money and make challenge of it :). And we will wish you luck on that journey, and wait some reports...

When in Vegas this year "twice" I actually found the poker scene to be depressing. Way to many places with no poker anymore. This being said, When I was at the wsop this year, it was a poking. Great tournaments and tons of poker going on where it was being played. When i was there the 2nd time is was so diffent and why I said it was depresing. The big casinos, Wynn and venition had plenty of action. Aria and Cesarrs looked good as well. All the other that has poker were not to busy. I was not there to play so maybe it was bad timing on my part but, I came to the conclusion that othert than the WSOP i dont see much of a reason to go to vegas unless there is a series you want to play in or just a fun vacation.

Some of my favorite recreational tourneys have been at MGM so I would add that to the list, but yeah it is kinda depressing from a poker perspective overall I suppose lol, I go there simply because it is a buffet of tourneys and well, it’s all recreational players when I play. Caesars is amazing to me, I never have had a bad time playing :) I love going to Las Vegas just because it’s a break from Austin ($140 round trips cmon:)), I could really care less about winning or losing, just like being around the scene:)

I suppose I should take the game more seriously, but I am cool with just playing recreational tourneys and cashing out enough to cover expenses lol

I have always looked at this game as a way to just make money like a part time job to begin with at best :) it’s a fun game for sure :)

Oh and south point also :) great games there, although can get kinda competitive, especially for the buy-ins. I like a balance of buy-in/seriousness :)

In March I'm flying out to Vegas in order to spend six days relaxing, playing some of their smaller tourneys, and celebrating my reaching the Big Seven Oh. :)

I was lucky enough to visit Vegas back in the early 2000s, and got to see some old stuff like the Stardust and Riviera casinos (now gone). A quick check on google streetview shows where I stayed is now a vacant lot, which was the El Morocco and La Concha. Ah What a fun time lol!! On topic, the newest hotel there looks like the Conrad, but Circus Circus is still there, along with the Mcdonalds and slots a fun!
