I had to travel last week for a waterfront conference in Silverdale Washington State. Very nice part of the country, but didn't get to see much due to the timing. There was a place called "Star Lanes and Casino" near our hotel that had a small buy-in tournament one night that I could make so I went to see about playing. I have to say it was interesting. 1st floor were bowling lanes with a set of stairs that leading up to a small room that had a handful of different table card game, 4 poker tables, and a bar. I have to say from the time I got there to the the time I left (we chopped when it was down to three) everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. Even so much that the manager saw me sitting alone wait for the game to start and came over to let me know that I should go ahead and sign up since it would fill up fast. I have always been somewhat hesitant with new places, especially those that are very small, figuring "local's rule", but was pleasantly surprised. I just wanted to give a shout- out to the casino and was wondering if anyone else has been there. Also what anyone else's experiences have been when going to a a new place.
