So as you may know, NYC is going to be getting full casinos in the very near future. Likely the first will be Resorts World in Queens & Empire City in Yonkers, with a third casino license to be issued later. It is highly probable that both will offer poker in addition to table games.

My question is will this kill the underground scene in NYC? I play with a group of players and it's not really an underground game, but I have played in the real ones, and it's just not enjoyable. The environment is sketchy (they get raided all the time), the players are always grinders (who else is playing underground?), and the rake is insane. I will certainly not be playing underground anymore, but the more friendly home games and my league, I will likely still participate because I know people there.

Any other NYC players excited for the cardroom to open, I imagine they will offer nice promotions at first to get people in the door.
